Dark Age of Camelot News - The Dark Age of Camelot site has been updated with a new producer's letter that takes a retrospective look back at 2017 and a peek ahead at 2018. Most notably, the team has announced "Endless Conquest", a new account type that will offer the game for free through level 50. Endless Conquest is expected to make its debut in Fall 2018.

So they are basically allowing people to try the game up to 50 with limitations? That sounds great, I wouldn't mind attempting to dive back into DAOC, as I haven't ever gotten past level 20. It always looked so fun.

Never played DAoC but checking youtube videos looks like it has to be the slowest game ever cause all videos are set to run in much higher speed than normal and with that speed the combat looks normal.

    Suzie forgot to mention:

"Conquest players will be able to level all the way to 50 on a limited selection of classes"

which might bother a few of you I would venture to guess :-)

I'm just too spoiled on action combat and improved graphics these days, nothing short of DAOC 2 would bring me back. Best of luck to them though.

Fall 2018? Bummer. It's been ages since I played DAoC. Guess it will have to be another 9ish months.

Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

It is kind of weird that they would announce something like that with that kind of time frame, as by the time it goes live, will anyone even remember its a thing? When a game is advertising itself there is a certain momentum, a window of opportunity in which you can reap the rewards of that advertising, i suspect 9 months or so is well outside of that 'window' of interest.

They aren't really advertising here, it's a marketing strategy where they make an announcement and see how much excitement it generates. If they get a good response they will start the next step of actually looking at what it will take to do it.. if the response is this sucks then they wont waste any time on it.

It's another way of saying, they haven't done a single thing to actually do this.. somebody within their company has a idea and they are trying to see if the customer (you) would be interested in it. That's why the release date is so far out. They haven't actually done any work at all.

That's pretty much me as well.
I don't think I could take a step back THAT far. Even returning to SWTOR proved problematic after I got so used to BDO's eyecandy and smooth combat =/

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
