hey guys,

I got ff11 for ps2 but its from a completley different country I asked if I could return it but I cannot for some reason. I didn't want to waste the game so I got it chipped. but I hear something about an ntsc may not work on a pal television.is there anything which will allow me to play a ntsc game on a pal television.

Yes, NTSC is an incompatible TV standard with PAL, and FFXI for the PS2 has only been released in NTSC countries (Japan and US/Canada). The European release of FFXI was PC only; no EU PS2 edition was ever released. I'm afraid I don't know much about conversion between PAL and NTSC but I would guess you would need some sort of converter hardware between your PS2 and your TV (or else get a NTSC TV).

Nope you would need a NTSC PS2 and then a converter to PAL, even then it is impossible to see the entire screen without shrinking it and the image will be disproportional. The PS2 is PAL it can not produce NTSC signals and the PS2 knows this and just stops loading the game.

The game won't work without a new NTSC  PS2 and then additional hardware, basically a NTSC TV.

PAL and NTSC have different line counts (resolution) and timecoding (frames per second)  they can not be really converted without some artifacting in real time.
