Even though i heard with the last patch the game became quite p2w... this does slightly interest me

Hi-Rez studios? These guys are pathetic. I've played their SMITE game in the past and ever since haven't thought about coming back. Terrible support team and developer decisions.

Don't recommend taking their products seriously.

Im not sure about Pay 2 Win, but the toxicity is awful in Smite, and Last time I played Paladins people would yell at you just for not playing by the meta and just submit a report you would get suspended, or warnings just for not doing what other people want you to do.

Hi-Rez has yet to address any of the toxicity issues in either game or put in features to help prevent abuse like Riot Games, or Blizzard Entertainment.

So my question generally is Paladins BattleGrounds going to have kids yelling at each-other too for not playing the way they think is best.

This is why the population of Smite Conquest and Paladins is so low compared to Queue up for any of Blizzards Games, or League OF Legends.

The new pay to win is effectively a slow death blow to this game, but to pretend that Paladins was in a good place before it is silly.

Even ignoring severe, long term balance issues, Paladins is a hacker's paradise. The lack of effective hack protection results in matches being frequently ruined by obvious aimbotting. The game experience is so lopsided and unplayable, which is unfortunate given that Paladins is actually a lot of fun when played properly.

When you run out of ideas try and bank on others success! This is pretty much the Hi-Rez moto. They Stole the idea of Global Agenda, then they took the 3rd person Moba idea from that horrible pay to win game Land of Chaos Online, then they saw Overwatch and made Paladins! Now they saw PubG and took an already copied game to make it even more of a copied game. Paladins is a very, very boring game as it is now being everything about it is just really not fun. Games are way too quick in most cases talking even a couple minutes when the teams are very unbalanced.
How the hell are they going to make a Battle Royale game using characters of which some of them are already overpowered! I mean healers and stealth users are going to pretty much rule the game mode. This just doesn't make any sense for them to make a Battle Royale with Hero style characters from a Moba it just doesn't work.

Could you give me a rundown of the P2W elements? I haven't been following the game recently. It used to be quite alright when it first came out.

If I remember it, casual got cards which got 0/10 and you can upgrade it with 10/10. In ranked everyone got the same numbers. Before there was more freedom. I think its not the p2w element but the card changes.

The upcoming system gives the base rank of every card to everyone. To rank up the card, you have to draw a large quantity of duplicates out of lootboxes. There is also no more deck limit on the number of ranks in your deck as in the original systen; you can now bring a full deck of max rank cards.

That's a pretty tragic change then. Especially considering that the original system was fairly balanced. You can't chalk down these changes to anything else but intentional p2w.

I'm curious how this new mode will follow this philosophy. Will they offer class powers or class cards in lootboxes? The premise of a battle Royale is a blank slate for everyone at the beginning of each match. This could go downhill real fast otherwise.

I mean, I'm very much open to the idea of a battle royale with classes and loadouts. I would love to see the inevitable fantasy RPG take on the genre. But paying for the loadouts is a step too far and would ruin the entire experience.

Maybe its not for battleroyal as it isnt for ranked.

u know paladins came out first before overwatch? this battle royal mode is different then any other. its with heros and every hero has different abilities. it isnt just mindless drop in and get a gun and trying to kill everyone. fortnite and paladins have the right idea in making the game type unique and different. Paladin's abilities are from Global Agenda, smite, and tribes. theres mutible videos showing the old classes beta for paladins was also playable way before overwatch was even announced. there both fine games but one did not copy the other. overwatch got more hype because so many people buy into blizzard games.

I agree toxicity needs to be addressed in online games.

I'm not a fan of battle royale gameplay, but i'd give this one a try because the art style of Paladins is something i prefer over PUBG's realistic art direction. Plus this will be a new game mode for Paladins. More game modes are surely appreciated.

Back to toxic players... when i play these games, the first thing i do is mute everyone who isn't my friend. I don't care what they say in chat, i enjoy the game more when there is less talk in them.
