No.... He's looking for a real mmo.

ESO is the best modern AAA out there Delete. It holds to some old school elements of gameplay which so few modern MMOs even bother with now. Yes, it is not the ESO I would have wanted, but it is the best there is. My only concern would be the cash shop is apparently rather awful now. If you know any "real" MMOs he can play do tell.

    1) You mentioned the cash shop is rather awful now.  That's strike one.  Lets add cash shops in itself fair or not don't belong when players should be working as a team (mmorpg).
    2) Easy = solo.
    3) Carrot-on-a-stick game play... Quest hub to quest hub from left to right movement across the screen.
    4) Story lines are a solo experience.  They don't belong.
    5) Group dungeons are an optional mini game.

Not a real mmo....... Besides, he stated the list of games for a reason, and that's to get away from games like that !

Project Gorgon is very playable atm but also a smaller project with less flash many new gen players demand.

CU looks to have a beta announcement very soon. When beta actually starts is another matter but likely in a reasonable time frame after announcement.

I think CU's beta should have a valid caveat though. Beta is said to be old school development. It will be a LONG WAY from being the so called beta stages many modern developers charge you play and often aren't reset before release. Beta 1 will be minimal and rough. They said each stage will develop fast however but some players who expect a near launch candidate best likely wait for later beta phases. MJ stated there will be an open beta which will likely be the game most here should test if expecting a nearly completed game (but even so, would be a stable test candidate likely a few patch version behind closed testing).

Things like The Depths, fully completed land masses and many classes won't be in game until very late beta stages. Future looks good though for beta as their development team is set to grow significantly (starting even now).

I am also really looking forward to try Pantheon but PG and CU look to be my focus in the near future.

    You stay sassy!

Problem is that we hear about them way too early because they want money up front,so it feels like forever.
pantheon not too bad but games like Crowfall, man we have had way too many pointless threads started by them dealing with the site's management.Destiny was the same thing,NOTHING on the game but had to witness MANY pointless threads.

What makes all of it laughable is a usual ..NDA lol.ok we want to SPAM you with threads but don't talk about our game, umm yeah ok.They just want to spam us with THEIR threads because they are biased advertising schemes.

BTW i don't agree with TESO being good at all,i quit in the first 15 minutes, what i was saw was a garbage design. It could very well get better,i only played 15 minutes but when i get that turned off i am out for good.

My suggestion, just play something you already own and like, otherwise you'll be on that bandwagon wasting money buying every new crap that comes out ,like "they are billions" etc etc.

It is not even JUST about games and their devs asking for money up front, these are carrying cash shops as well and often those cash shops are pretty much forced with no viable options, unless you can game 22/24 hours a day everyday and even then some stuff in cash shops can never be attained, just ask Kings Isle about that.
There is another avenue i despise,a developer exploiting a young kids game and their parents because that market has literally no competition and parents tend to spend foolishly on their kids ALL the time.

And to be fair, I would be profitable because honestly im the one yearning for a game and willing to spend plenty of money to get into a good game.
To be fair you are the type of player that has caused MMOs to be mostly shit.  Developers pushing shit out the door because they know there are people that will just throw money at them.
Yeah again, thats pretty aggressive and mean man. The whole point of starting this thread was to vent my frustration for missing that "locked in" feeling to an MMORPG that I can wake up way to early to play and sleep way too late because i'm in such enjoyment.

I felt this way about WoW, Asheron's Call, DAoC, Wildstar, SWTOR (for a bit) and even FFXIV. I don't want anyone to rush their product because i'm simply venting. I will gladly wait, and I will still have my money to throw at them when the products are ready, i'm just kind of in a MMO purgatory.

I still enjoy other blizzard games and that's totally fine for me. Just hoping for a chance at something new and great sooner than later is all. I hope you have a good day JemAs666

All of your concerns are valid, but only up to a point. Wish we could get away from cash shops, but for now we cant. Solo rules MMOs now. I have no issues with quests as such, but wish they were framed to encourage grouping. The fact it has dungeons is a plus, that is something that so often seems left out in new MMOs.

Where are the better modern AAA MMOs? That's the issue, we don't have some sort of fabulous themepark in a sandbox sandwich to play, which would be my ideal. Your ideal MMO may be different, as would many other posters, but there are no other AAA choices which use a sufficiently old school or sandbox template.

Happy if someone would prove me wrong. :)
