EQ2 vs WoW: Which will be the MMORPG of choice for 2004?

I know neither game is out yet and all we have are screenshots and speculation, but this is a discussion board and I'm interested in hearing some discussion as to what the people here think regarding these two games.
For a long time I thought that EQ2 was going to sail into town and kill about 4 older MMOGs in the process, all without breaking a sweat. But the more I hear about World of Warcraft, the more I think it may actually steal EQ2's thunder and trump it as the big 2004 release. Of course, I am assuming both get released in 2004, which is optimistic at best.
I agree that we should wait until the product is final until we pass judgement. Just look at SW:G to see an example of huge hype and little delivery. Regardless, let's just play Miss Cleo here and vote which game you think will end up winning the MMORPG crown.

Im so excited for World of Warcraft, just reading about the game excites me to extents I'd rather not talk about (jk of course). I don't think it will be another SW:G big hype game and a let down because its BLIZZARD were talking about.
I've heard people from GenCon say its the most complete and stable game and its still in Alpha testing, probably slight exaggeration, but he said in 5 hours thier was only 1 crash to desktop, and they reloaded it fine without a restart (he said he didnt actually see it crash to desktop so the player might have accidently closed out of the game).
Just reading about all the things already in the game and what they are planning on putting in the game before the beta is amazing. It will be a peice of artwork, and once it comes out, all the people who are hating it will see what a wondeful game it will be and probably come play it. Yah i realize thier will always be people who hate the game, but oh well.
And one more thing, im not a blizzard fan boi, I'm a fan boi of good mmorpgs.

EQ2 will probably hit release first, for various reasons...not the least of which is that SoE/VI knows how to approach the market and has the infrastructure and experience to release in the market. Even though Blizzard has Battle.Net, it's not nearly the same thing. But I don't think that matters any longer...it mattered back in the early going, but there are so many options out there now that it's far more important to have a compelling product than a first-to-market product.
Since we are speaking in terms of WILD speculation I won't venture to guess which will be better. Might as well speculate on which lottery numbers would be better than others. But I am really curious to see what Blizzard does with WoW...far more than my interest in EQ2.

Btw WoW has lots of pvp concepts, that are already implemented. For example, pvp zones sort of like DAoC Rvr Zones that will alow free player vs player battles.
What this comes down to for me, is like which over comes out first. I hate waiting around and they both look like great games.

EQ graphics engine needs to learn how to apply light to objects, because right now it looks so . . .WRONG. The more detailed an object looks, the worse it looks without proper lighting! See WoW.
Oh and neither of these games will be best of 2004, because both won't officially release until 2005 !!!!! LOL!!!!
Permadeath and environmental challenges are the next great step in the evolution of MMORPGs. Only through true adversity will one feel accomplished. Only in truly knowing you can die will true adversity present itself.
Lineage 2 all the way!!! I'm in the beta and it ownz!!! You guyz dun kno what ur missing... WoW and EQ2 will will be like swg.... overhyped and rushed thru production so they can make $$$ (well mayb not WoW u kno blizzard...)
Anyways lineage 2 will b out b4 both of them and will be much better. NC learned from their mistakes and Sony did not. Plus lineage2 is correcting the mistakes it made with lineage1 if characters arent balanced they will NOT nerf but they will simply buff the character who is weaker up to the other characters (so far lineage 2 chars r balanced) Sony on the other hand will nerf when neccesary just like with SWG. In fact SWG is voted the most dissapointing game of 2003... It simply put was overhyped... Also the GM's in lineage2 are EXTREMELY nice and so is the staff. In fact they are much nicer than WoW staff it seems.
Blizzard can make Strategy games well but simply put they are the new kid on the block when it comes to mmorpg's and this will be its only downfall... i do NOT think Bliz will suceed for more than 2 yrs with WoW simply because the way they r handling their community. I mean if they fully listen to a group of players about implementing stuff then another group will not like it then they try to make them happy then another group won't like that. Simply put they will be in a endless cycle till they fail.

Thats how everything works, you can't please all. Like how Lineage2 is pleasing you, others might not like it.
Btw, ain't Diablo blizzard's first hack n slash rpg and ain't it a success? Maybe they made earlier games, i'm nt good with blizzard's history.
Based on reviews, WoW is really on the right track(well, except the pvp concept which is still unknown).
If I'm not mistaken, Blizzard made Lost Vikings before Warcraft or Diablo.
EQ2 will do well, no doubt, but I just think WoW will end up snaking a lot of their player base our from under them. I really think the losers will be the smaller and older games, though. I just recently quit Neocron because there is just nobody playing. The Asheron's Call series is in trouble, although Turbine buying the rights from MS may be a shot in the arm it needs. UO and EQ are showing their age, especially Ultima. Even hardcore players of these games are going to be hard pressed to stick around with all the new options.
I think WoW will be the winner, but EQ2 will still do well. Lineage 2 sounds great, but I just don't see it overtaking either of these two in the west. Lineage will be huge in the pacific rim without a doubt.
