Combat:ITS NOT ROCK PAPER SCISSORS

As the title implies, it IS NOT ROCK PAPER SCISSORS. The combat is in no way if i choose power and you choose speed i win. Its no where near that. Not even cr 2.0 is that.

The current system is based on your base roll and modifiers. Your base roll is your awakened level CT bonus, (so a level 50 has a +200 base roll). Then you add the title bonuses, ex: A duelist will have +5 points when using guns from gunman, +5 from the guns, +5 from gunslinger title, and +5 from duelist.

Thats a +220 base roll for duelists so far. Then you add attributes to your base roll, which would be +0-6 (7?) from focus. Lets say you have 61 focus, so you have another +5 RCT, or ranged combat tactics, or 5 points in using guns.

Thats +225 base, and says so in the combat log. (which is the chat box above the area chat box, has red numbers in damage and white in rolls).

Then you can add in clothes, which is a lot of info and deserves its own post. But the normal bonus to hitting someone with clothes for a duelist (or pistol dood) is a +10 RCT shirt.

so now you are rolling a base of 235 with no buffs, no tb's etc. This will normally roll a interlock roll of 260-360.

REMEMBER: In no way is the base roll your actual interlock roll. Its just the base number that all interlock numbers are based upon.

So, if you use a TB which is +20 CT, or points, your base roll will be a 255. This has a avg roll of 280-380. It can hit higher on skills etc, but normally does not. Then you can throw in the +20 ct buffs, (combat enhancement 1.0 and upgrade master) for a base roll of 275. A base roll of 275 will normally roll in the 300-400 range, which is extremely good.

Now then, if both opponents are equally matched and buffed and tb'ed, is it rock paper scissors you ask? No. It still is not. It now is all based upon luck and how the opponent and how you use the skills available to you. You can lower there rolls, buff your rolls, or just damage your opponent. what you choose is up to you.

Someone buffed vs someone unbuffed, (naked with no tb's, no buffs from a patcher, but is the same level and has the same title) the buffed will always win. There is no way a unbuffed person can beat a buffed player if both players use a interlock build.

Hackers and free fire use the same basic system, but they are clearly not rock paper scissors so i wont go there. Anyways i hope all you "Its rock paper scissors!!!1111" people will be quiet and stop lying.

If you want to challenge me go ahead, but ive been playing since release and just recently stopped. (feb 20th). So my info is probably a lot more up to date then you beta players.

Anyways, good luck trying to prove me wrong and tell me thats its rock paper scissors, although you have no facts to prove it.

He's right, it's not rock paper scissors at all.  Each of the 3 choices is just a style.  They each have their benefit and drawbacks.  There are still base rolls and modifiers, and it's not about one style beating the other.  I don't know why people would think it's that way.  If it were, combat would just be totally random and pointless.  There would be no sense to fighting someone if you just had to randomly change your style every "turn".  And I can see why the OP is sick of hearing people's misunderstanding of the combat system.

reading this, i found it confusing if you havent played, so heres a example.

In WoW, there is a auto attack skill. it auto attacks using the item in your inventory. Then you have skills to use based off of that.

Now in the matrix, you have that basic attack button, and its called interlock. In interlock instead of doing one basic attack, you have a choice between 4. They all have the same basic function, like WoW's auto attack, but  instead of just 1 option you have 4.

Power does damage, but rolls low.

Speed does normal damage and rolls normally.

Grab does a smaller amount of damage but supposedly rolls higher.

    and block of course blocks.

How is this rock paper scissors?

How is combat people's biggest complaint? The combat was fantastic. The way your character's moves slowly get better. One day you're just swinging away, a week later you're jumping off walls and throwing enemies over your back. Why would anyone assume that it's rock, paper, scissors? Have you played the game? Or has the game changed that much in the last couple months?

How about fixing that whole "complete lack of end game content" thing? Or, the bugs or the lag?

Even if its not paper rock scisors its still the single most horrible combat system I ever tried in any game I ever played. I waited a long time for Mxo and it was a total let down, I spent 3+ months in Mxo when it was released and tried another month recently and its still the biggest POS I ever wasted $$ on.

So why did you hate it so much?

I personally found it alot better than a traditional MMO combat system of "press attack , watch spell cast or sword be swung, press next attack, watch exact same animation with a different name"

I don't get it. Its not Paper rock scissors but with what you said here, It nearly is except that sometimes paper can beat scissors if they get lucky and play it just right? I've never played the game but was just gathering some info. (ps. don't take this in a bad way I just don't see how this statement justifies the title of the thread.)
