Star Wars: The Old Republic News - Keith Kanneg has posted a brief note on the Star Wars: The Old Republic forum to let players know that the 2018 Roadmap is a work in progress and that it should appear sometime in mid-February which should provide a peek into the 90-days following its publication. In addition, Kanneg mentions that summer events are planned and that 6.0 is coming too.

Seems they're not planning to go anywhere anytime soon :)

I would say the charts are showing the game is doing badly, like worth shutting down kind of badly.

So this is just an advertising push and whatever 6.0 is,likely very meaningless content or effort.

Even when they spent the 200mil ,i thought the game showed a big time lack of effort and whomever was in charge of the combat systems, knows nothing about good combat.

They first need to understand how to make an MMO,instead of a single player game with a login screen.

obviously it makes money or why else would they keep pushing out new cartel crates as often as they do? hopefully they go back to a more imps vs pubs storyline soon.

For all it’s flaws, I do still enjoy the game and have played on and off since launch. If it shut down, all we would be left with is Lootboxfront 2 and crappy mobile games for our Star Wars gaming fix.

I personally had a blast with SWTOR.  The sights, the sounds, everything that makes me love putting on star wars movies on and just playing in the background -- the game had them (or at least some of them).  I mean, c'mon, am I the only one that would just stand there and turn on/off my lightsaber repeatedly?  I mean, haha...right....right...?  *starts crying*

It was actually something minor (major to me, however) that made me leave this game: the animation changes of the Master Strike and Ravage abilities for the Jedi Guardian and Sith Juggernaut, respectively.

For a long time, those two abilities had some of the coolest, most awesomest, bestest 3-second channel animations for two of the most devastating melee skills in the game!  Then after a certain patch (don't remember which one), they COMPLETELY CHANGED the animations.  From what I have read, they wanted to make the skills instant, instead of 3-second channels, so that those classes could be more competitive in pvp.  Who knows...

Anyways, I hope it lasts as long as it can, and star wars fans like myself continue to enjoy their adventures in a galaxy far, far away.

True, but then neither was Star Wars Galaxies. If Anthem is released only to flop as hard as yesterdays dinner from the south end of a north bound brontosaurus I don't think its going to matter what plans Bioware have in store for SWTOR's future.

ya really. why even get into a raid if you dont even like the game. ROFL. Dude is full of it. I wouldn't waste my time going through the whole ordeal of trying to get into a raid just to fall asleep.

Not being negative or anything, and not doubting they have the best intentions going ahead... but... most MMOs and game studios nowadays tend to release similar statements right before they shutdown.

I am not one that really cheers when I see a  Coming Soon ™ type post about stuff that is "going" to be released in the future. I guess I've seen to many " Carrot on the Stick" type posts in my time to be impressed short term. So what ever they are working on needs to be released in the March or April time frame since they are already late on releasing what they wanted in their last road map. And if it is slated to be released in the fall it really wont help them at all and you can expect a lot of unhappy people  .

One day it "might die" now we're back to saying it will survive. Good work MMORPG.com I can see it's been a slow month.

I thought I read another thread that said it was going to die.

the story mode is what made this game a success. down side is, once you finish all the stories the rest of the game is a let down. they wont add any more class stories so now its just the same ol mmo. add more to the class stories and i bet you get alot of people back. at least until the stories run out.

It is a good game, anyone who thinks that if it closes there will be a rush to replace it with another AAA Star Wars MMO is badly mistaken.
