Will the people that get these be able to sell them via the grey market?

Anvil Aerospace F8C Lightning, the "security" version of the military ship you will fly in SQ42.

Presumably you can give any of your pledge ships to someone else  @rpmcmurphy
Personally i doubt that someone will easily part with the F8C Lightning

As per Cris Roberts the F8C is not avaiable for players sub $10k+ in Star Citizen without SQ42 - therefore the argument of all stuff avaiable in game is invalid now.
You may grind for the Ship if you own SQ42.
So either paying $10k+ and get one free or pay $15 and grind for one.

    • "Q: What’s up with the F8 Lightning?

A: You don’t get the F8 Lightning until Squadron 42 is out.  Basically the way it works, there are a few ships where, if you make it far enough in Squadron 42 that you can fly those ships, then you get a badge in the PU to be able to buy those ships in-game with UEC.

As a thank you to the backers who have supported at a very high level, they get the F8 Lightning outright once Squadron 42 is out. To be clear, this is the F8C that people can acquire.  Not the F8A which is what you fly in Squadron.  The F8C has civilian equipment while the F8A has military equipment."

Or you get the F8 Lightning from any of the other players - those that DID play SQ 42, which will be the vast majority - in game with in game money. As it will be a very common single seater fighter, the price should be in a manageable range.

The F8C is way more powerful than the Hornet I guess it will be very limited, where do you get the assumption that it will be very common?

But this would be an option indeed if avaiable (Ship freely tradeable without piracy if not completed SQ42) which is not confirmed.

If you played SQ42 and are allowed to buy an F8C in Star Citizen with in game money ... would you not ?

    I would.

And some of those hundredthousands of players will resell their F8C.

I highly doubt that this ship would be sellable.
