Dauntless News - The Dauntless site has been updated with a post to provide players with insight into where the game is headed in 2018. With community feedback from both alpha and beta testing, the team is ready to work to prepare the game for open beta testing sometime this year. That work will take place in any one of seven specific areas identified by the developers.

This game is really quite fun. It was a little rough around the edges in alpha but there's a lot of potential in this title and the studio making it. I have high hopes for it.

Think at this point I'm just going to wait for MHW

I mean I hope dauntless keeps going. MHW is very fun no lie, but some competition would be good for the market. . . .I think

I'll play this over MHW cause it doesn't have the eastern look.

As long as they can keep a small but loyal playerbase they'll probably do ok.

Is this PC only or will it go to consoles too

Excited for the continued growth of the game.

The thing that really allows MHW to stand out is the near flawless monster design and interactions. You can generally guess at the capabilities of a monster at first glance due to perfect art design. The way monsters patrol, hunt prey, nest, and fight eachother also makes them feel real. MHW is one of the most immersive games I have ever played in this regard.

If Dauntless is to compete, it should take some lessons here.

At this moment and time I believe they are only working on PC. I could see them eventually doing console if it's successful but well MHW could quickly ruin that if they don't get a good enough image in place by the time MHW comes out on PC.

This game is so screwed.  It's vastly inferior to Monster Hunter World and directly competing with it.

This game is definitely a lower overall experience than MHW, but god I hate the character animation style of MHW. If Dauntless could increase the depth of non-combat experience and GREATLY improve the combat, I could see it being something that could live alongside MHW.

Dauntless could carve a niche on the PC market IF they can give us good keyboard and mouse controls. PC has a lack of good action games. The Dark Souls, the Monster Hunters and all the other similar games are all console first with horrible targeted combat with locked camera and god do they exploit that to make it "difficult".
