Paladins: Champions of the Realm News - The latest beta patch has been deployed to Paladins to bring the new Battlegrounds feature to the game. Hi-Rez announced its take on the battle royale genre last month during its fan festival. During a Battlegrounds match, up to 100 players are dropped onto a massive map in a fight to the finish. However, Hi-Rez has added some unique twists to its version of battle royale to set it apart from others.

    This one is actually very interesting. Allow strategic gameplay with "resurrect camps" and their attack/defenses.

    checking the steam numbers since the patch, this hasnt caused a Fornite type of surge in player numbers.....yet.

    I haven't had much interest in "Battle Royales" but this looks intriguing. Time to check this out.

    I kinda like it but the card loot upgrade thing is not really my idea of good balance cause some characters start off significantly stronger than others. It would be better IMO if you could enter with loadouts like in regular matches cause then at least if you're under powered it's on you. Played about 10 games today and after a few the whole looting chests for cards became a turn off but maybe it's just me.
