again, my face is contorted in a manner that can't be explain ? Why are they "Little Ladies" ?  Am I the only one who finds that sexist ?

You might just make a mini game of "little Ladies" in the kitchen making sammiches.  whistle while you work..
Well there are two trains of thought, being a VERY experienced player of Square Enix games.More so i pay attention to almost everything in any game i play, right down to rmt,to shotty looking players,to botting etc etc.

1 SE has as long as i remember ,catered more to females and classes played mostly by females, you don't have to believe me whatever idc.
2 Females from my experience and again from "pay attention/watching"tend to do the events more than males do.Example just seeing the recent Errollisi day in EQ2,i saw a large majority of females doing it and very few males.I saw the same thing in some SE events as well, idk why it is but it is.I think has more to do with females will do events for the event while guys tend to want some big shiny reward or will not bother.

It might sound like i am stereotyping but guess what, males and females are different,in case some didn't notice.Of course there is always a crossover somewhere along the lines, but i speak in terms of majority.Since i am talking from what i witness over MANY years,it is not like i am just lumping in some comment based on seeing 50 players over 1 year,i am talking thousands++ over many years.

    Complaining about this is absurd.

There are plenty of real issues out there to address.

"recent Errollisi day" doesn't sound as demeaning and sounds relevant in the supporting of women over the title "Little Ladies" .. Why not a "Ladies" day... why put that adjective that is making sure that ladies know they are little. Japan has always had issues with equality, and it shows here.

This has nothing to do with content of the game, it is the presentation of the event that I personally find demeaning. Literally making sammiches. Woman are supposed be the only danty object that goes around and sings to birds
ok, japanese game, now tell it to us from their point of view. What they find "good" what they find acceptable how the word "little" might not have the same connotations in eastern culture that it has in western culture. If it's even "that word" that they are using.

What is the actual Japanese phrase and what does that actually translate to in any particular western language?

Also, the attitudes toward men and woman might just be different in other cultures and they might not be thinking in the same way you are thinking.

    Just a thought.

This event is mirroring Hinamatsuri celebrations in Japan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hinamatsuri

According to the game's lore, it is a holiday when all young girls are treated as if they are nobles (that is, a Lady). And since this apply to young girls only, calling them Little Ladies is extremely apt in my opinion. There is even an in-game legend of where this tradition comes from.

I fail to see why you would want to get outraged over this.

If I read their comments corrently, they themselves weren't offended by it but rather they were offended on behalf of unknown people somewhere in the world who may potentially find it offensive.

It's nonsense, just a cheap way of making themselves feel good by taking on a fake moral high ground.

Of course they are treated horribly the rest of the year.

You know, just like how in the real world a lot of countries has mothers day just once a year, so naturally we treat them horribly the rest of the year, right?

Seriously though, the 3 original leaders of Eorzea are all female, the strong women in this game really don't need you to come to their defence, especially not over some imagined insult

not outraged at all. I'm curious, how do they treat women for the rest of the year since it seems to be only 1 day they are honored.

You do realize that those female characters in game are also played by males right?  Is your mind blown?

It is annoying to watch women work so hard just to have japenese men make up the dumbest events , and the fact that people are passing it off as it is supposed to be aimed at little girls inside of the game world, is even more disturbing. Each their own I guess, let the oppression continue.

It is really scary to see people so deep in a game lore it feels like it seperates them completely off from reality.

Being a feminist male doesn't make me a snowflake so don't get it twisted. Most men are feminist just don't even know it.

I'll go ahead and say this: No women out there will find you more attractive, and no sane person will find you a "good guy" just because you create this kind of negative scenarios out of everything. People already explained to you what this one event entrails and references. A "good" person wouldn't be constantly trying to start drama out of literally nothing just for a chance at being a "hero".
