Wild West Online News - The Wild West Online team is back with the great news that a big new update is incoming. Servers will be taken down today, though it could take a week or more to "prepare the new game backend, database and make sure that account data is intact". The post also thanks the community for its patience as the integration of new features and the overhaul of alpha systems took longer than originally planned. Rewards will be passed out for helping test the alpha version and for patience.

I dunno, it's early access. It's a huge game overhaul. So while the servers for players are down, the internal ones they're probably testing the patch on are not. I mean, they'll be playing it and testing it before it goes live and so forth. Seems to me that folks who bought into early access forget that early access means this kind of stuff happens. Now, when they launch, if it's still as bare and still needs a week's down-time, then you riot.

    Really?

lol people never been through Final Fantasy XIV maintenances, they must have the worse backend system to require such long maintenances on updates, up to days and days for expansions.

Ehh? The servers are only down for a day in FF14. I usually spend that day catching up with all the time I should've been beating my meat and filling up jack jars. Just a suggestion.

"Sergey Titov" levels of shady. Little research shows many shady things about the game :) It's the same engine used for WarZ / infestation + other Titov-scams along the road

I don't think they actually think that, I think they are all just really mad it's going to take 2 weeks for a patch.

While I understand their anger, it is definitely an early access game and the dev posting is right, most EA games go down for weeks and have small focus tests, so I can see why maybe their backend isn't setup for easy patching yet.

Then again, it is a game that looks pretty dang awful, and it's on a super bad engine. Who really knows until it actually comes back.
