Vermintide takes place in the Warhammer universe. For those unfamiliar, it is a dark place full of death and disease. Plague rats and their larger cousins the Skaven rule the sewers of the human cities killing anything that goes down there. Vermintide 2 takes you out of the sewers and sometimes into the wildlands around the city. You have choices of up to fifteen heroes in this co-op fighter.

So much fun, and lot of teamwork needed and tactical depth in the game. My Kerillian is decent and my Brodin as well, but I havent played the others much yet. A good game with a ton of potential.

Everything you liked about Vermintide, only better.

Been loving it with only a few maps to play.  I hope we get both scenario and class DLC; I would like to see a true warrior priest character added for one.

I have a question for those playing.  Anyone here that didn't enjoy the first game that is loving this one?  I tried to get into the first one, but it just got really boring fast.  I loved Left for dead 1 and 2 and typically love co-op games.  Just don't want to waste money if it's basically a prettier version of the first game.

I'm liking it a lot more than the first one. Progression is a lot better and you can feel actually getting stronger. It feels like they improved on everything from the original.

Thanks for the info.  I'll give it another look when i'm done with FF15.

I've watched some streams of this and the first game when it came out.  How many hours can you get from story on one class?

if i understood that right, 2 new classes were kind of confirmed in chat yesterday during the stream (well, they mentioned it in chat, no one disagreed... i missed it when they said it)

plus, dual wield hammers for the slayer were added to the list of things that would be cool :>

I'll be pre-purchasing that DLC. :P  Warhammer is awesome, and Fatshark has a winning combo.

If you liked L4D, I can't imagine you would be disappointed with V2.  As @Mykell mentioned, there's more progression here than in V1 or any of the L4Ds.  I like the more visceral feel of primarily melee combat better in Vermintide, whereas ranged weapons are a lot more effective in the L4D franchise due to the setting.

However, it will eventually become a game of repeating missions on higher difficulties to try and get better loot.  I see that as inevitable, really, and V2 launched with 12-13 missions, so there's quite a bit to get used to.

Did I see mod support, oh hell yea, bring on the green skins, vampire counts, dark elves, tomb kings, lizard men, beast men, and all other minor factions, as playable and enemies.

Any books suggestions that would go well with the Vermintide setting/time period?

There is no reason why there shouldn't be a playable Vampire or Necromancer because afaik, they joined forces with the Empire et al in the End Times.
The less age of sigmar the better for the setting.

Given my sporadic playtimes I've always preferred to play with bots. Unfortunately, the AI bots are horrendous and I'll need to wait until some player mods in a decent team for me :)

Best not to mention those. Those are really horrible and equally barf inducing as the whole End Times mess. If you want to read something nice about Warhammer, choose between history books(aka Time of Legends stuff...The Sundering, Sigmar, Nagash etc), Brunner the Bounty Hunter, Matthias Thulmann the Witch Hunter and Gotrek the Slayer. Those should tide you over for quite some time.

What's so horrible about them? Besides not picking up pinged Tomes and having wrong priorities when it comes to revive(revive ALWAYS comes first), they're quite alright. Better and more reliable than most players at any rate.
The Konrad Saga and the Blackhearts books are good too.

Most anything not End Times is good although I like some of their authors better than others. Werner, Abnett, King, Long, Lee are all pretty solid and safe good reads.
