EverQuest News - Daybreak will be pulling out all the stops in celebration of EverQuest's 19th birthday. On Friday, March 16th, players can log in to take part in special anniversary missions including "Lost but Not Forgotten", "A Formal Dinner Party", "Pieces is Pieces", and "Fish Eyes in the Dark". There is also a new mount available as well as content from anniversaries past, new Marketplace offerings, a special live stream planned for March 16th and more.

    I'm actually surprised this game is still going. Too bad about many of the other games that died along the way.

    I started playing EQ in Beta, Feb 1999...and I still play today. The Original + Kunarl + Veliious still bring me far more joy than any other game out there; nothing comes close.

    I don't remember the year I started playing but I was only a kid and my dad got me into it. I played until shadows of luclin came out and I was still running Windows 95 or 98 cannot remember. I eventually moved on to DAoC. Blackburrow was and always will be the most frightening experience in an mmo to me.

    EQ is the reason why I have played MMOs since 99...if UO would have been my only option I wouldnt have stayed in the genre very long.

    I hope there is more than a single set of anniversary quests.  These tend to be things only players at the highest level can do.  From what I can see, only the prior anniversary quests (14-18) plus a new one was announced.  

    EQ1 is still fun for me.  But that fun is mostly in the journey from 1 to 70.  Beyond that, it's just a massive time sink.

    Let's hope there will be quests and rewards at all levels, and not a kewpie that is needed for the next set of quests.
