Portalarium and Travian have released a pair of videos to introduce new players to the world of Shroud of the Avatar as well as showcase the "cooperative RPG" portion of the game. The latter is described as "a multiplayer fantasy RPG and the spiritual successor to Richard Garriott's wildly successful Ultima and Ultima Online games". It is definitely running on high Ultima energy!

Nice production on the videos, Travian did a good job putting them together. Did you see the video of the Shroud launch party?

The trailers look far better than the steaming pile of poo Richard Garriott has created. This game has been nothing but a complete cash grab, is NOTHING like Ultima Online and to be honest, he should be ashamed.

Want Ultima Online 2.0? Go buy Legends of Aria/Legends of Ultima. We're all having a blast, and you can get a nice house without paying Richard Garriott $500.

There's one game in dev with ultima devs that is quite interesting, it changed name so I can't find it, they are the one where players can also host their own moddable worlds/dungeons, etc...

Yes that one, it's not that uncommon to hear people calling it "Ultima Online 2" or a legit successor to it.

I derp he other poster said it I didn't recall it was it gg

Mind if i ask if the early access is an equivalent of a full game, meaning i won't have to buy it or pay a full price after it will be released?

Seeing as SotA isn't meant to be a modernization and enhancement of what was essentially presented in UO, and Aria is, it isn't surprising the latter comes much closer than the former.

Rather, SotA is a new game taking a new approach in the exploration of familiar concepts and themes... at least to those that have played Ultima games before.

This is a case where very similar roots support very different trees.

Also, $500 virtual houses are way to rich for my blood. I will have to settle for a $50 virtual ditch.

Good to hear Aria is doing well. Hopefully that will continue so that the game remains an available option for a long time to come.
