lol I was able to fully gear my musa up by level 20 with boss gear that I obtained from reward chest. I have stacks of black stones, cron stones and millions in gold from daily family fame fund bonus. The only thing hard about this game is finding peal items on the market and being able to buy them.
I just tried this again since..OB I guess, as I wanted to see the differences between Bless ( been playing it on Japan in the past 2 days ) and Black Desert.
Now .. who the fuck was in charge with the UI??? Worst UI ever, with no information as to how to change things , hide them, etc. Plus, you can barely read chat.
This game is like you really invest time in all this shit to learn it and live with them, or you just /quit it.
Only good thing about Black Desert is fighting. Anything else is just a mess thrown in-game.
The crafting is a mess ? The node system a mess ? Black Desert is an mmorpg, not a themepark clone. Maybe this is why you don't like it ?
I don't like it because of the VERY messy UI.
And yes, crafting and node system , as I said , "is a mess thrown in-game" , meaning that is not really a main part of the game, but .. just to be there.
Black Desert is known for combat. Never heard anyone talking about how great the crafting or node system is. In a contrary , I heard talking about how messy node system is and that you need "time" to get used with , hence "This game is like you really invest time in all this shit to learn it and live with them, or you just /quit it"

It may seem like it's easy to obtain gold, but when you need a TET enchanted item it runs real high costs if you want to enchant it yourself, or if you want to straight up buy one they are EXTREMELY expensive.
I had 200mil yesterday I spent on one item just to get a mediocre awakening weapon without having to enchant it myself and probably spend more.

So how can you build guild ships without crafting ? Can you buy elephant armor without crafting ? How about the Noble Wagon mount ?
Crafting a huge part of the game, it is without a doubt the best way to generate silver.
I respect your opinion and will disagree.
In my opinion, Black Desert UI is one of the cleanest UI's I've used in a long time. Not having to have skills on the hotbar is an added plus. I can adjust everything I want, scale everything I want and put things where I want.
Maybe search the option or use the ui editor. Might be able to get to something you like.
Agree to disagree of course.
And let me add one little thing : Chat. I could not Chat ( at least in General Chat ) because I needed energy ?! And 1 point of Energy is automatically recovered once every 3 minutes and you need exactly that point of energy to type ONE message. So basically , if you have a conversation on General Chat with players about X subject, you can only reply once every 3 minutes. That is fucking pathetic. I think that was the time when I alt f4 fast.

Every hear of gold farmer ? This is a great system to keep gold farmers from rerolling banned accounts. Once you get higher level, it is a non-factor.
Are you fucking kidding me? Seriously , this is a lazy "feature" which from my point of view is doing more bad then good.
You go ahead and tell a new player exactly this, while he is trying to get some help from others , in-game through chat.
Limiting legit players because .. "farmers", is never a good idea.

I'm still waiting for the update that fixes the fact that the game is a shallow time sink with equally as generic systems layered on top of each other to make it look like it's a fulfilling or robust experience. In reality the focus is on PvP that is gear dependent or spending hours upon hours grinding on groups of monsters.
has any asian grinder ever been succesfully ported to the western style of play? Just knowing it's origins is enough to keep me away

I think it was also to eliminate pretty bad toxic players spamming chat that usually comes with open world PvP games.
Honestly it works pretty well. Just go find a guild and talk to them about any questions. It only limits world chat. You can still use any other chat including whispers without the energy. At least you can actually recover energy, in a lot of other games the world chat is blocked by needing a cash shop item like a megaphone.

I am not playing that type of games where you are blocked by needing a cash item in order to chat. Maybe you, but not me. I am also not playing games where they limit legit players because of the "good" against the farmers.
The only game I played ( played, not tried ) , where at some point they limited chat , was Aion , but that was only until lvl 20.
Anyway, is a MMO game. Don't act like is my "fault" . I don't want a guild, at least not early in the game, and how the fuck I whispers people if at least I cannot get to speak with them a bit? Random whispers so I look like a beggar/spammer ?

If a person could get up to full +18 gear and level 60 in a month of reasonable play, this game would be a lot more popular. Instead it is hit 60 in a month of 12+ hour grind days (used to be much worse), then grind for a year+ to maybe get +18 boss gear to be on the bottom end of competitive in pvp while people in +20 stuff roll over you like you don't even exist.
They need to do so much to make this game worth playing to anyone who only cares about PvE.
Such a giant world with seemingly massive potential for immersion, utterly ruined for the fact that the game is nothing but a mindless grind in all aspects with forced PvP where the person with the better gear (and more potions) wins.
The only incentive you have to do PvE is to get a higher level after hundreds of hours of grinding the same mobs over and over and over. You only get a choice in WHICH mobs you grind in the large world, but it's all the same.
There is no reason to play beyond level 56, unless you, for some reason, like grinding. If you like mindless grinding, BDO is your game. If you like having fun and progressing through content, look elsewhere.
Oh, and don't forget to pay up about $50 after buying the game to get some pets to pickup loot for you, because the game has no area loot like every other MMORPG. And then a hundred more on inventory/bank slots and weight and misc other stuff to make the experience not as miserable.
BDO is a prime example of how to ruin a game with potential.
Still waiting on more PvE content. Maybe some more world bosses or a base we can defend from invading forces (not players) or something. Would love to see open raids and or dungeons added if they can figure out how to make that work.

unless you are a gold farmer, the feature is rock solid. Are you a gold farmer ?
eh really? mmo's are supposed to be social, and I don't think that is supposed to mean only with your guild if you have one. The chat = energy and lame locked price marketplace are both complete horseshit cop outs. Economy and social aspects are half the reason many people play MMO's, and BDO shot themselves square in both feet.
Bah, this game has more serious problems!
First of all server stablity, then the stupid flag system to pk players busy with monsters. And, of course, the very stupid enchanting system
