I find the number 42, in the games name, quite ironic. Since the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised to see a slated release date some time late 2042.

They seems to be putting alot of time into graphical detail... Maybe too much considering it's still got no release date in sight. More MMO and more release please! Graphically I'd rather they spent more of their time developing more of the universe and worlds than spending what looks like centuries of design hours on ships. Looks very nice, but a little overkill on all the moving turret parts, etc. They are going for epic but that kinda stuff is fluff if they can't release the game before AI takes over the world and puts us in a matrix that puts this game to shame.

We should of seen this coming there's a reason why he left while freelancer was in production, they had to gut some features and ship it as it was.

That's funny I think the best comments come from the idiots who spent the most.

Lol, I only spent the 40. But still have a comp that can rock it at constant 40 FPS....so tons of fun. Just need a real good comp to run it well atm.

Has Gary Oldman left the project? I heard he said in an interview he is no longer cooperating with CIG.

I'm very interested in Squadron 42.

The persistent universe thing is up in the air on both whether I'll play or if it will release into something that people want to play.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

By the time this hits gold, running it at 40FPS will likely require nobody to upgrade anything in their rig.

Still peaks down on stalls but the average FPS is very well stable for decent hardware, that guy's average was actually 63FPS in the current 3.1 PTU.

So hay for performance, nay for naysayers :P
From watching streams or looking at other vids, he seems to be the exception.
Also it seems he only meets one other person later on in the video?

I'm happy if they actually managed to fix performance but until this actually becomes the norm, I'll be skeptical :)

Oh man, he even says in his video description "Do not take my FPS as an indicator of performance..."

There's a thread here with quite a few responses about 3.1's performance https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/88i6pz/what_fps_are_you_getting_in_the_ptu/

Or wait until release and it is optimized.   If it isn't then computers will have come along enough that it won't matter.

Yes because of how flippant the PTU is, especially when purposedly put under stress testing and debugging, it's always hard to indicate.

As they unlock all ships to everyone in the PTU so dozens of people were spawning Reclaimers, just gg

So patches ago was me with ~40FPS in average normally flowing, new build hit now I don't get past 20 in any game session, so there is some stuff going on, but it's still quite better than its hit on 3.0 in general where I could dream of 40 even on fresh server (I'm med-end hardware at work).

Then you need to get a better crew. I have tons of fun in this game, even in the Alpha version, with a number of great people. It shapes up like the old Star Wars Galaxies .... a complete world to live in, with dedicated great people that love sci-fi games .... so ...... awesome !

    Have fun

Alpha Patch 3.1 is on live server now .... exactly on the date it was supposed to be (end of first quarter).

I doubt pushing the patch out during Saturday was part of any sane plan. They just worked on it until their own artificial deadline and then pushed the result to live server.

Airborne trolls are the best. Sorry if Star Citizen's development is a little bit more complex than Minecraft lol
