Star Trek Online News - Cryptic Studios has announced the release of Star Trek Online Season 14.5 that wraps up the Tzenkethi War with an epilogue and brings a new featured episode on board. In addition, a new secondary specialization called the Constable and dedicated to peacekeepers like Odo from Deep Space Nine has been added to the Captain Specialization System.

It's too bad downloading this game takes ages with their outdated patcher and slow download servers, I tried to hop back in a few months back and the launcher was downloading at less than 1 mbps, was going to take all day.

All this mid-season patch has added was:

A new Secondary Specialization, Constable, which within itself is good since it applies to both space & ground at the same time. It's just too bad for players that invested (30) points into the other two specializations which one was for space & one was for ground since those points used will probably become obsolete & wasted.

It added one new episode today, but there will be 2-4 more following having one new every week if all is business as usual. The episode is good, but I often think the Cryptic writing is a highlight of STO nowadays compared to other features & lack thereof.

Lastly, added was an Infinity Lock Box compilation of two different groups of ships into one larger group of ships. Prices for the in-game economy have already been inflating this year quickly & this might just add to the inflation. So far though some of the ships affected have doubled in price & then some of them have lessened in price. A secondary effect for pricing will be what the STO big-spending "whales" do regarding the change. Some of them are just enthusiastic players of STO while some are suspected in-game item/service gaming business sites.

Pretty lean additions even for a mid-season patch, but the focus I'm sure is for later this June with the Victory Is Life expansion. Also, beginning on the 5th will be another First Contact Day mini event for a few days. In the theme of business as usual there's already a scheduled patch tomorrow to hopefully fix the patch for today.

Their content patch always seem to undo all my hotbars. I wonder why this happens,
