headset question / problem
So I currently got a very nice headset, which is quite comfortable and has very nice sound. However, it got two problems:
1) No USB connectors, but those 3.5mm thingies. And the one slot is already taken up by my sound system, so whenever I want to switch that to the headset, I have to fiddle around with the cables on the backside of my desktop computer.
2) Since a couple of days I hear a quite noticeable noice when I try to record something with its mic.
Now I see two solutions.
a) I buy a different headset. I looked around, and the Creative Sound Blasterx H7 Tournament Edition HD 7.1 seems to fit my needs. It got USB and both 3.5mm cable depending on needs, is supposed to have good audio and a good mic.
b) I buy a separate mic, like that blue yeti one that is supposed to be so good. It costs roughly the same (slightly more) than the Creative headset, and I'd still have to fiddle around with the cables, but I'd keep the good sound of my current headset and have better microphone quality.
What would you do?

My worries are that when buying a new headset, the microphone quality might still be bad. That's why I considered buying a single mic, like the blue yeti, that should surely do the job. Then I still got to keep switching in and out the 3.5mm plug for the microphone with the 5.1 system, depending on what I use, until I get a new USB headset.
