I recently purchased three pairs for my studio and they are worth every penny.

Having said that, they are reference phones so they have flat PFR. If you’re used to commercial phones that have a higher curve, music is going to sound different and probably not as pleasant. These phones are for mastering audio.

Postlarval is right. I tried these just before buying my HD800S & HDVD800 combo and while they were very good I noticed that the music sounded a bit different. I am not a musician and do not master audio so I could not quite put my finger on the issue. Nice to finally know exactly what it was.

    Thanks :)

Even their lower tiered headphones are pretty solid. Engineers always say "Don't ever mix in headphones" but Beyerdynamic open backs are f#$%ing awesome.

Best mixing phones out there. Their closed backs are excellent for recording as well. Vocalists love ‘em

Their stuff is great for the studio. I was using Sennheiser HD280s and AKG K701s but after trying Beyer’s I made the switch. All their phones are very solid.
