I "come" from Lineage 2 , where you could walk a lot with really nothing to see then some trees and some grass here and there, until you found some mobs to farm.
I kinda understand your point, that a MMO World filled with "life" is a plus, but ..I can live with Bless World as is now. This.."blank map", Is not a ..game breaker for me.
yeah, I come from Lineage 2 as well and other than specific dungeons and hunting places, the world wasn't "alive".
I'm curious to try this game and see for myself.
Yeah but I had never minded that in L2. Did you?
My first video game was pong. Space invaders was a huge favorite. Anything above and beyond that is good for me.
I still remember the day my brother brought home Pong brand spankin new, we were in awe and played for days and months-we both thought we would never see the likes of it again

You will love it. As far as I know, L2 and Aion are also 2 of your fav MMO's which means we are both alike and since I tried the game in JP and liked it a lot , you will also feel the same
And exactly. L2 world was anything but "alive". Not to mention that in 2005-2007 I had a very bad computer spec and I had to play L2 with all settings to min , which made the world and everything even less alive lol , but I still had a lot of fun in the game
I was interested in this game until I watched some YouTube videos.
Apparently it's impossible to solo in this game. The game is just so hard that it was compared to Dark Souls.
That killed any desire I had to play. I hate difficult 'hardcore' games!
I just want a fun little time waster to unwind in at the end of the day. But it looks like Bless is not that game!
Glad to hear that. Actually very glad to hear that. Last time I played a MMO which had hard solo experience andso , making group play viable ( which .. that's the definition for me of a good MMO - group content - ) , was Aion. And I miss Aion.
But yeah! Seems Bless is not that game for you, which is fine. There are other great solo experience MMO's out there ( WoW being the best ) . So it's all good
Yeah I was watching a the lazy peon’s bless video from about a year ago and even with it being an older build the things that bothered him (mostly the combat) didn’t bother me. Also it showcases some of the “empty “ areas but that also didn’t bother me. I think I can have some fun in this game.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
Don't know why in this (JP) build there were no Mobs in the Desert, but in Steparu version ( Korean ) , back in 2016, we can see Mobs :
Anyway , the zone is so fucking awesome. I love it !
I have been told the reason why there is no mobs in the Japan version is because the Korean version is max level 50 and the Japan version is max level 45.

People complained about empty areas in SWG, they also complained about urban sprawl; it was pretty annoying. When it comes to games with huge land masses the trade off will be empty areas, non instanced player housing, urban sprawl. I'll take empty areas over small instances any day.
False hope in spite of overwhelming evidence against....a human condition....
This will not be the next great game you are looking for.
In the last 2 days, I've tried Bless on JP servers , and I like it a lot. It depends so much as how they will update the game after the initial launch. I really have faith in Bless Team and they at least deserve my full support.
Bless is a combination of Aion and Lineage 2 for me , which both games are number 1 and 2 in my most favorite MMO's ever. I have played Aion for 1.5 years and I had a fucking blast in it. If Bless will deliver at least 1 year of awesome gameplay then i'll be happy.
I've actually been waiting for this for along time. It has every aspect of why I like Korean mmos in it with the added plus of Faction pvp much like Warhammer Online .
This game is the sleeper hit of 2018 along with SotA.
I feel the success of Bless will be equal or greater to Lineage 2's NA launch. This is the game that a lot of people have been waiting for.
B2P / Cash shop, can't argue with it, its the monetization of the future for the genre.
/sarcams ?
nope.
Oh ok! I though we were... "enemies" or something Well , hello
No, that would be me.
I really thought he was being sarcastic as well, the comment about L2s "success" in the NA market is what threw me.
Lineage 2 had 4+ million players at launch . It was released before WoW. After WoW was released we got knocked down to about 1.5 million and server merges.
Imagine the currency exchange U.S. dollar + EU into Korean currency , it literally created a cornerstone for NcSoft to try other projects, like Guild Wars. 4 million + 60 dollar box plus 2 years of subscriptions before WoW's launch.... that's very successful for a Korean mmorpg. The game was subscription for a long time with a dedicated player base. I would say NcSoft made close or over 500million on Lineage 2, + what ever gold farming % .
Think a lot of people are having a memory lapse of how powerful NcSoft use to be in early 2000's
Current exchang rates : 1 USD =1,069.46KRW
All good, except "..+ what ever gold farming %"
You can't really say with a straight face, that NcSoft actually made "black" deals with gold farmers for some .. I don't know , ok ok .. 1 !! million $ and in the same time , to say that they made 500 + mil with subs and box sales.
Do you really believe that gold farmers would keep a big.. secret deal like this? No, they would of make more money by .."leaking" , how they made black deals with NcSoft
So I say no. NcSoft , and other companies alike, will never risk the company for some $ with some chinese gold farmers. Really ...
Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy? Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
Umm not sure if OP is joking or not, but as I have explored all of Bless map - 10-15% of it is actually filled in with content.
The rest of it as a barren wasteland.
The world of Bless is 10% amazing, 90% blank.
Also the oceans of Bless... heh empty.
I still cannot believe that Neowiz is so completely out of touch with western playerbase and how much they have no tolerance for unfinshed maps like this.
If they had the money to fill in the entire map, they might have something great on their hands. Such a shame they are pushing this to steam in this state
Any chance, with this improved version, they would have filled some of that in?
Having played the relaunched version - aka "improved version" - they have not and will not.
There was a dev interview on Steam - where the devs answered that they will be releasing the game on steam as is - and that depending on how the game does - they might start to work on the map in the future.
So the short answer is - no.
I mean you take a look at a game world of Black Desert Online - there are vast areas that have no mobs, but still have grass, trees you can harvest, shrubs etc.. the world feels alive even in remote corners. In BDO you dive underwater and it's filled with plants, corals, etc...
I can't wait for people to play Bless and just see how absolutely embarrassing and blank the world outside of quest areas is. It's really inexcusable IMO.
I mean BDO did it, ArcheAge did it - they both have huge open worlds that are filled, open oceans that are filled - but Bless failed here... the players will ask - why?
And that's a damn good question.
If you are not exaggerating that is a good question indeed. It really cant be that hard to at least randomly scatter some trees and ground cover. Their world building tools really can't be that bad that it takes that much time. A bad job would be better than no effort into it at all. Come back and hand craft it better later.
You are way over hyping this. Are you a NeoWiz employee? What % of early access games actually produce a quality product in the end? 10-15%? Its a scam, everyone knows it is.
Pre-ordering a game that has failed in 3 different countries is a terrible idea. This whole thing just looks like one last cash grab. Do you think they don't realize how hungry the NA is for anything MMO? Sure it looks pretty. Just like it did years ago when it was released and closed down almost simultaneously in other markets.
Think rationally, wait for some reviews/watch a stream at the bare minimum. Blindly supporting this kind of behavior from video game developers and publishers is only making it worse.

Well , I guess it wouldn't be that bad to be an NeoWiz employee, but I am not.
Anyway , I am hyped about Bless for the simple reason that I already played it and in no way I am a blind supporter. I did stated that here, but of course you didn't read that. I always think rationally , but do you? This is not a KS project MMO where they release a bugged early access game with no more reasons then a cash grabber. But Bless isn't a cash grabber. I already said that if they wanted fast cash , they would of release the game with Aeria Games, back when it was announced.
So yes, think rationally. What company is working their ass with their own money and resources to fix their game and try releasing a stable MMO ?
So stop with this none-sense that they are going for "cash grabber" think. In May it will be 8 months since they announced the release on Steam. Add some more months since they started to work on the Steam version , and we have at least 1 year since they are working on the Steam version of Bless. And all that , again, with their own money and resource. They didn't go the "West" route , meaning to release "founder packs" way before the game launches. So for this , they have my full support.
PS: I would agree 100% with you, if this was a KS project MMO.

Do you know why they chose to self publish - because all the western publishers turned them down.
Why? Because after looking at the reworked version Neowiz still got the feedback that the game is not ready to publish, and that significant work needed to be done.
Neowiz said - no to that and is pushing for an unfinished version on steam which western players will get to try first hand soon.
Cant wait for launch so everyone can see first hand the state of the game.
Also lets see their cash shop.
You are very delusion Kano.
Please read this loud and clear :
” Can you explain what specifically was lacking in that version of the game, knowing how much the do-over set the game back in terms of a launch window?
We worked hard with Gamigo because we both wanted to ship a high-quality game with Bless Online. However, we felt that we should spend some more time in development to make the game better, but our timeline didn’t align with Gamigo’s business milestone. That was the main reason we agreed to mutually terminate our contract. We wanted to take the time to get it right, so we are. Gamigo is still a partner and they are wishing us well with our self-publishing effort for Steam.
That means, Gamingo/Aeria Games wanted to rush the game and release a bugged Bless, just for the $ , while NeoWiz said they want to take time to fix the game.
So stop with this pathetic excuse, that no publisher wanted to publish Bless in the current state. That was a NeoWiz internal decision to self-publish and I am very happy about this.
Also , as far as I understand, no one , except NeoWiz, has actually saw/played the Steam version of the game. So yet again, you are making false facts and turn them into "true facts".
If you believe, that spending 1 year just for the Steam version, with their own money and resources, to release an unfinished game just for the cash, you are very , very wrong.
But then again , let's not forget how only Trion, has accepted to publish Devilian to EU/NA because no other Publishers wanted to touch that game. That , is a true story.
About the cash shop, I am 100000% sure, it will not be as bad as your beloved ArcheAge. I don't get it, how you can comment and be against cash shop p2w, but at the same time you support it, by playing other games with very P2W cash shop. You must be named Kano to do that !
