CB Experience - one word, BAD!!

First that renaming to LoA :D and all those changes (reduce number of Skills/ bigger Map/ ...)
Seeing how positive many reviews and comments have been, it couldn´t hurt to give it another chance to convince me not being a Cash-grab!

Well, now this Closed Beta was supposed to deliver a nice peak what we players can expect when Steam-EA comes (April?). To be honest, It does not feel like Ultima Online ever did. It feels clunky from controls to performance, with serious balancing issues regarding the very few possible builds.
Also:
quite empty server,
even community servers are a far better(!) experience,
serious lag on gaming rig rofl
...
(a lot more, just read their forums)

Unless those Devs invest a lot more time, this game will fail miserably at Steam.
Don´t forget Steam-EA is still just Beta, which means it will take another year or two  :'(
Same goes If you want to host your own server. A friend tried that for some months now,
but hey it´s just a long road of issues and false promises - no real toolkit, no real support, no documentation, not even assets are possible as he said.

At this stage - HANDS AWAY!!! ...or you get burned

Well, early access is for the fearless who are more interested in testing and development, and not really for those seeking a playable game.

Sry, but these days Early Access is expected to be a playable game, where just minor tweaking will happen. But Legends of Aria is changing whole systems with each Patch and dozens of Hotfixes.

Steam crowd is not that forgiving, which is a good thing. There is enough Kickstarter scam out there already  :/

Lol...you clearly have some disilluisioned memory of UO.  UO both struggled with clunkiness (still does go play an official or private server), balance was also not a thing ask any Dexer that played at any point outside of like a 6 months window of late UOR.

The game feels like a more polished/up to date UO.  Clearly that isn't your cup of tea anymore, and I don't blame you.  Now if you complained about how shallow the game currently is or lack of content, that's different I'd agree but I'm hoping that gets improved.  The server is now fairly empty as most have ground through what little content there was but when the beta first started it was quite bustling.  You are correct in that the community servers are better.

While you may not like the game, and I could respect that, the reasons you give make me question this thread in general.

BAD? Hell no. As a previous Ultima Online player I'm having a great time so far. Love every bits of it. This really sandbox-feel that I havent got from any other mmos yet.

And yes it is CB so my expectations is not that high and never is at CBT.

But if you think this is bad.. well then this is probably not the type of game for you. Go back to the theme-park MMOs like ESO or something :)

I can't wait for this game to go live and to see more ppl joining it.

Ask Portalarium how well its working out for them, waiting for the old school UO crowd to show up.

    ;)
