It was in beta.
If you follow the link to the article on their website it says they will "launch out of beta". The "Early Access" stuff was made up by MMORPG.com
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Beta testing these days is almost exactly the same as Early Access anyways. Only certain companies take beta access seriously anymore.
IGN had the same wording as their article 2 hours ago was titled "Paladins Leaving Early Access Next Week".
I know what has been construed as cheating is FOV views. You see ALL of these games utilize the camera, there is no such thing as truly using your eyes it is just a matter of camera placement.
So what gamer's were doing it manipulating FOV to cheat looking around corners or through walls.
It was a way of cheating without actually using any kind of cheats.
You know similar to lag cheating.Your not officially using any add-ons to cheat but in essence you are cheating.
This is a major problem in real sports and in gaming,so many will do whatever it takes to win even if bending the rules.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
This game was really awesome when it first came out in beta, but the currency changes really hurt the game and left a sour taste in my mouth. I bought the "full" game with all heroes ever to be released, but the currencies changes made it feel like you had to now grind / buy additional stuff. However, despite the currency-dependent advancement system and strange multiple currencies, I do agree that Paladins is overall more balanced and more fun than Overwatch.
Don't gotta sigh when someone points out a mistake. Also, 200 Crystals? That's barely anything in the end. The grand release after 2.5 years and they'll give that little?
if I am not mistaken, it is 200 crystal per daily log in
The real launch happened years ago when it went live and they took peoples money, regardless of what they called that launch.
All this means is they can't hide behind the "it's beta" or "early access" excuse anymore.

Heck even on the official launch celebration announcement, it's just a bunch of give aways and the promise that they won't be doing any major changes...
I'm half expecting DayZ standalone to declare itself launched any day now just to try and sucker some money out of people and get some attention.

Try a MUD today at http://www.mudconnect.com/I just don't think it's much of a launch when people have been playing and paying the game for 2.5 years. lol.
