Team speak is the new cheat in online game that is widely ignored. I play WoW and noticed a very strange thing happen in a BG we had the game rapped up only 80 supplies left to win and miraculously the horde makes a comeback from 900 supplies. Team speak is the way people communicate between forces or factions. All a person has to do is look at the map and know where the weakness is in BG and, take advantage of it.

YOu just made yourself look dumb. In war do you want people to know your weakness?
Horde playe with TS + Alliance player with TS = Cross faction communication.

Nevermind, this'll take care of those retarded TS'ers.

you know the funny thing is, that in another topic (girls and mmorpg) I got flamed as I said that there are NOT 40% girls on teamspeak..... heck I even didnt had the right to ask them to go on teamspeak.
I got flamed for being a sexist to ask them to get on teamspeak.
I dont know what BG is, since I never played WoW, but let me tell you, teamspeak is not a cheat nor would I put it under a third party programm , it is just another form to communicate without hitting the keyboard and if you can not afford a teamspeak headset or your guild doesnt has a server, than just shut up. Your topic thread is sooooooooooooo socialistic!!!!!!.
Are ingame PM's between different faction members barred in WoW?
If they are then the moles use of TS was a form of cheating (circumnavigating the game engine prohibitions) but TS itself isnt the cheat: he could have used MSN chat, Ventrilo etc.
Ive never played WoW but I suspect that any player can PM any other in game, meaning the info the mole relayed could just have easily been typed to the enemy faction. Couldnt it?
*Shrugs* One persons cheat is another persons tactic I suppose.
EDIT: I nearly forgot the crucial part "give it to us all". TS is a free program, as is Ventrilo. If you cant be bothered to dl and set up your own voice comms server you can either a) pay for someone to host a server for you, or b) find one of the literally 1000's of free to use public gaming servers out there.
Nope you can't PM the horde on an alliance toon.

Im not sure what the point of that was, whether its a game design or simply a matter of efficiency. If its the former then its impossible to police - families playing, internet cafe gaming etc. You cant stop people from talking to each other whilst playing a game.
I agree that those who use TS have an advantage over those that dont - that really goes for any game unless youre role-playing, in which case voice comms is an obvious killer - but I dont think the use of TS itself is cheating and as pointed out, as it functions seperately and outside of the game it isnt in Blizzards power to ban it.
I hope you read my edit. You can get TS here and Ventrilo there. Enjoy!

No, Voice scomms are not a killer. If you ever played a pen and paper rpg, which been out before a PC even got invented bzw. rediscovered, than you know that people communicated to each other by voice and not by writting.

Thursday is my PnP night; been playing table-top for 12 years.
Talking in character to someone sitting across from you in the same room is not the same as using voice comms to roleplay with someone on the other side of the world. More power to you though if youre with a group who manage to do it effectively. Ive personally never found one.
And yes I agree. Roleplay games have been around since ancient times so Im almost positive they were around before the first home computers that came on the market in the 1960's.

First published in 1974 I believe....home computers are a little older, but were considered just as geeky
Edit: I didnt mean the 1970's when I said ancient times either....cheeky!
Im surprised no one has posted "Ban phones too!" (until now)
Ummm, it IS given to everyone, just go to their website and download it. Mics/headsets are close enought to free as well these days so the only people that don't have teamspeak/ventrilo are those that either A) don't want it for whatever reason (fair enough, to each their own) or are too stupid. Judging by the body and poll in the OP I'm going to guess you're not part of group 'A'. VOIP programs are no more of a cheat than 2 people playing in the same room. Are you suggesting that all roomates/families that game together should be banned?
Agreed.
Ghosting happens with teamspeak, but with only Counter-Strike.
Guild wars everybody is shown on the map.
But, ghosting doesn't happen in CAL games.
When me and my friends play CS or Guild Wars together, we use PTT or Walkie Talkie features on our Nexel phones.
Just another way to cheat i guess.
Neptus - FFXI - Pandemonium
Neptus - WoW - Detheroc
Agreed.
I think this topic should have been posted on the WoW forum.
But anyway, is it only me but does anyone else think it odd that Blizzard have given no means for opposing faction characters to communicate in game, ignoring the fact that people dont play games in a bubble and will communicate via other means outside of game?
I understand where the OP is coming from, though I feel his frustration should be directed at the game designers for leaving such a gaping hole in the game design.
I guess MMOers aren't used to using more efficient means of communication yet.
