I was wondering why I need to put my CC in if I'm only on a trial?

    On another NOTE, can I cancel my subscription before I have to pay if I dont like it on the trial?

    (It says

    "You will not be charged untill the trial-period is over"

    There are many resons for why a CC is required.  I won't go into to them in detail because this is something that commonly comes up every couple of months.  I will say that you will be charged on the CC after 14 days if you do not cancel.  You can cancel as soon as you activate the trial.  You will be able to play those 14 days.  Then on day 15 you would need to reactive your account.  This is a way to keep yourself from being billed, if you are worried about that.

    The primary reason for requiring a CC is to make sure DAOC is not wasting their time.  If you do not have a CC, then you won't be able to play the game.  Since you won't be a paying customer, then why bother allowing you to play the game from fee sucking up bandwidth and taking possible character names away from current and future paying customers?

    There is  paybycash.com option.  I am not sure how many people do it.  So you can play without a CC if you really wanted to, they just want their money upfront.
