LawBreakers News - LawBreakers is now free to play on PC via Steam. As of this writing the PlayStation 4 version of the game is still buy-to-play, but players are hopeful the price tag will be dropped there as well.

    Wait. Why would they do this after folding the company? Will Nexon sell the rights to another developer and have the game live on?

    Seems like it'll live on on Steam in its current incarnation. It still says published by Nexon so...who knows? :D

    It sounds like they're trying to pull an "Evolve." That game is still on steam as f2p even though its in permanent maintenance mode. I can't really hate companies for doing this though since there's always someone out there that liked a game before it died.

    Permanent maintenance mode? I heard theyre going to shut down Evolve soon.

    Oh sure, Nexon can practice necromancy and no one bats an eye, but if I do it, I get banned from the local pet store.

    well, F2P may or may not help it live a bit longer, but it is slowly growing. If they do more advertisements as F2P it can attract more people. If the console version goes free as well, that helps too.

    People seem to only play games that carry the Esport tag with it and is popular.
    My issue with the game is using the grappling hook idea,i don't like that at all.Other than that it is pretty much the same old same old fps pvp game ,pretty much the same as every other game in this genre.
    Even the newest UT is free,so i don't understand how Cliffy thought this could warrant a price tag.

    Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

    I thought LB was some good fun, and some of the game modes were not same old same old. This is great for everyone who can’t buy a new game every month. Let people enjoy these games as much as possible until they’re shuttered. No harm done.
