During the PC Gaming Show last night, we finally got a look at the Improbable-powered Battle Royale, Mavericks: Proving Grounds. Before your eyes roll so far back into your head from the idea of another BR game, take note - Mavericks: Proving Grounds is the first step in what will become a bold new MMO shooter from Automaton. The Battle Royale is just the beginning...

That makes no sense. This is basically a game mode for PVP testing. That’s what “Proving Grounds” is. It’s just one mode of a bigger MMO. So you’re writing off a whole game because you don’t like one part of it? Just honestly curious to know your frame of mind.
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

"Citizenship allows in-game wealth and prestige to dictate how you can customize your character and earn items for the open world"
I wouldn't mind just the customization portion, but what does it mean earn items for the open world? Like items you wouldn't be able to earn if you weren't a citizen?
Hopefully they don't ruin this with a weird pay model, or pay to win.
F2P and P2P together in the same player base ALWAYS has warts - usually many, many warts.
You'd think players of optional sub games would have figured that out by now.
“Microtransactions? In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?”

Unfortunately, a lot of things sound good on paper. I'll wait until it becomes fully executed until the "hype" begins.
Personally, I’d rather play an MMO with a sub required, or at least able to be purchased with in game currency through playing like EVE and WoW, than one with another type of model.
Thank you for your time!
I've found the p2winners luv to feel they're special and unique snowflakes ENTITLED to be treated special.
Ok, not trying to be obtuse but what is the larger MMO? The only thing I've been able to find concerns BR. And their road-map has release at the end of this year. The only difference I've found between their 'Proving Ground' and the game is you wander around on a bigger map to kill people randomly for basically cosmetics or better weapons to grief people with.
I'm genuinely curious, what is the point of this game. There are plenty of FPS's out there, plenty of BR's, and plenty of full open world PvP's (which I still look sideways at since they mention on almost every web-page that the city is a social hub aka lobby). Is it a bigger CoD? a cleaner better Heroes and Generals?
Then why would i care about HOW MANY,if i am looking for great systems and an overall quality game, the numbers don't mean squat to me.
I can't stand the BR theme and the weapons/firearms is same old boring.
So i watched the video,it shows nothing but BR,i go to the website and there is says nothing and we really hear about is the BR.
Bottom line,WAY too early to give this game any notoriety other than a BR until we SEE more.If there really is a lot more we would hear about it on their site but we don't.
