This game is just AMAZING! Why havent anyone told me?

Mount and Blade? Not a RPG but a RTSRPG in 3rd Person!

Ok, so I recently looked at a list of RPG´s and found something that sounded kinda interresting, but at first I thought it´s gonna be just another 5 min timewaster. OMG, I WAS SO WRONG!

After trying it out the first few minutes and noticing that the animations, especially fighting, riding and ! Horsebackfighting! are the best I have ever seen so far in any RPG! I have never imagined it could look so cool to charge in with a warhorse and a longsword striking the enemy with a swift blow whilst passing and looking back to see his body colapse in a stream of blood.

Then it even got better, cus I found out that I can hire Soldiers to fight for me, yes even upgrade them, they gain experience and i can order them around! I was in love with that game this very moment and now I want to share this love with everyone who´s sick of the same old boring stuff the big companys make millions with.

But a much better review of the Game (including a Interview with one of the two developers) can be found here:

http://etoychest.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1350&Itemid=43

BTW: There is a free Trial aviable!

Enjoy!

P.S.: Another Review, this one´s from rpgdot.com:

http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10053&ID=1115

P.P.S.: I wonder how many people that vote in a negative way for this game have actually played it ... I bet none.

Played the demo.  It's a great little game, I didn't like the dl software on full game, but it's probably  just me and not that bad.

I´m glad others like it too, i´m so into this game and realy want it to be successfull.

That´s also why I´ll try n push this thread a bit every now and then.

Please post your comments and thoughs, also be informed that there is a second part in planing wich will include MULTIPLAYER if we are lucky it will be even a new MMORTSRPG ?

That's nice, but its not a mmorpg which is what belongs here.

  • athriaxoathriaxo Member Posts: 25

True, but I know that the two developers (a turkish man and his wife, both very nice and active with us, the community) would have loved to make this a mmorpg but they just dont have a budget. :-/

Im sure they won´t let us down, they want to make a second part if they can accumulate a little money to live on and its gonna be what so many are waiting for.

Not an mmo, or even multiplayer but...

Easily one of the best games I have played in awhile. Worth a try for sure.

Why does it hurt when I pee?

Hey, I never sayd its Multiplayer

But it still is one of my absolute favourite offline Games... this might cause some discussion, but I say its even better then Oblivion.

Hi, I've been a member and follower on MMORPG.com for many years, but i've only posted a few times, this game has given me a reason to now..

I downloaded it a few hours ago, and I've got to say, this is one outstanding game, It has  real-time combat, where you have to block and swing your sword, and command teams. I've only been playing a few hours but it's amazing so far, I would definatly recommend this for people to try.

As previous posters have stated though, this game (at the moment) is offline and single player.

Definatly worth a try, I myself will proberly pay to get the full version.

P.s The combat in this game blows oblivion out the water, especially the fighting on horses.

Agreed, this is a great game, I've been playing it for a couple years now. However, it's not online. At all. It's no wonder no-one in an MMORPG forum told you about it...

    Quite fun game.
Haven't digged deep down into it yet, but i love the combat. Specially when you make 'drive by' on your horsie, with a trusted crossbow :P
The modding community seems quite good too. Alot of interresting ideas for mods(Starwars, pirates, 17-18th century, gangstars, you name it), and some released.
Defently nice with a 'breake' from online games, and since this one have pretty solid gameplay.. I might stay there for a while :P

I´m so glad that some people found the game good as well, I bet they got hundrets of new downloads from theyr site (wich is quite a lot considering there is a community of only a few thousand).

I still am sure that if those two can gather the money for a small team, they could revolutionize the mmorpg market (no joke).

P.S.: Did you know its possible to INVADE and OWN Rhadogir Castle and the other one (forgott the name)? Check it out! You can station your troops and prissioners there! Also you will have to defend it from time to time wich is so much fun... omg i gotta get back to playing lol :)

  • handshakeshandshakes Member Posts: 73

Well the whole castle sieging thing is very buggy at the moment.

Right now I gotta say I like Oblivion better if only for the scope and story, but the combat in M&B definitely is not only better than Oblivion but better than just about every other medieval game out there.

Why does it hurt when I pee?

just to add onto my previous post- i've been enjoying this so much i decided to get the full version, i will also hopefully get involed in the modding community

for anyone looking at this topic- try the game out, its a really sweet single-player rts/rpg

the d/l is 50megs or so, its free to play untill level 6 (took me a few hours to get to level 6)

    cheers

Oh! Something I forgot to bring up in my last past. This game can't really be called a "Real time Strategy," as you control only one thing on the world map- your one party. Everything else is beyond your control. This is simply an action RPG with very loose control over a party of supporters.

I'm not trying to detract from it, because I really admire this game, but it is not an RTS and should not be advertised as such.

I´m just a fan of the Game, trying to share my love with everyone and what I wrote was more what i feel it is then a description of the Game. To me this is all about strategy since one can easily beat a army double the size if you use a smart combination of troops and at the right time :)

But I think everyone experiences games in different ways.

I've heard the pvp is great.  True?

  • phennexionphennexion Member Posts: 63

M&B Owns. It's an amazing game.

I'm currently in a team modding the game to make a post-apocalyptic mod. The game is 100% awesome.

No, that's a lie. Do you know why? There is no PVP. This game is completely offline. There's no multiplayer at all. Period.
