Hello,

I was in AA Beta and couldnt really try it because the few times i logged in it crashed.

I just wanted to know from some people who play this game if it is really worth buying. Here some info to my likes and dislikes.......I like games like EQ2 and WoW...so the usual stuff......i am afraid that AA is close to CoH or CoV......so just having a bit fun for 1 hour without any real MMORPG equipment elements......

Thanks in advance

Well, I'd say it's closer to CoH/CoV than it is to EQ - mainly due to the faster pace of the game.  That said, CoH doesn't have any equipment, but this game has TONS of it.  And it has a terrific crafting system that let's you expirement on items to get better results.

I'm a former EQ, EQ2, WoW, DAoC player.... and I love this game.  It's a true RPG in the sense that it has lots of stats, gear, and crafting, but is much more fun due to the incredible combat and physics.

Well said, Danjak.  The fast pace is reminiscent of CoH, but the game is much more robust than that one and there are tons of equipment and crafting and all the stuff CoH left out.

I've heard some people claim that this isn't an MMO, but I have no idea why they say that.  Yeah, it's fast paced, but there is a rich set of stats, quests, RP, etc underneath.  It's a dynamite game and it's definitely worth a try.

I played this game at E3 last year and wasn't all that impressed (of course I only had about 5 mins to play), but since I've bought it and am playing, I love it.  It reminds me in many ways of the old days of EQ or DAoC (pre expansion).  I just wish more people were playing.  I would hate this game to fold because no one gave it a chance.

Thank you for the very informative answers.

You convinced me and i will give it a try!

How many servers are there? I just wondered because you were talking about a low population.

There are four servers.  Right now, the server with the most people is either Breakdown or Apocalypse.  Breakdown is listed on the server screen as having more "stress" to it... but Apocalypse actually seems to have more people on it.  I did a population check last night and the two of them were amazingly close in population - they differed by only ONE person.  lol...  Others have posted where Apoc has been a bit higher than Breakdown at different times.

    I chose Apocalypse... it's got a better name.  :-p

Ha!  hey man... I'm still the same guy... no more changing for me.  (although I may start an alt up, but my champion will remain my main).  So you went human???  Yikes.  Mutants have the better missions and are just generally way cooler.  Plus, humans are overpopulated... don't contribute to that!  With that many enemies, it ain't easy being green...

You can't send tells to other races, so that's your problem right there.  I'm still on though... was on till 3 am last night.  lol

Simply put, I like this game.  I'm not even sure why, but I do.  I always play sword and shield type games, and stayed away from guns and futuristic themes.  So like most of you out there, I played alot of World of Warcraft.  Frankly, I am bored out of my mind with that game and I was looking for something new.

AA came along, so I gave the 14 day trial a whirl.  I immediately was hooked.  This game is fast paced, exciting and not at all boring.  You can blast everything and often I find myself destroying steet sign, just because you can!

Seriously, this is a fun game and very unique by today's standard.  I highly recommend trying AA out.  Very fun and addicting.   All that, plus vehicular manslaughter!!!

I played the preview for AA a bit before it released - it's a fun game with lots of potential, to put it simply.  Reminiscient of a Twisted Metal MMO, but in reality, it's very different.  There are bugs in the game now, and a lot of the quests are repetitive...so there is a bit of a grind factor in this game, though, if you have a higher-end computer, it shouldn't be as much of a bother, since the graphics can be great to see in action at full.

It's fast-paced action to a fault, too.  Combat system's unique.

I liked it for a while, but it was bugs and unoriginal quests that killed it for me. But that just may be me. You may think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Still wondering what and where this mythical fountain of "non-repetitive" quests is supposed to be.  In any MMORPG, you either move your character around and/or destroy other mobs or things.  Quests will reflect that.
