I recently started playing Warframe... again. For about the 10th time maybe? For whatever reason, it’s been one of those games I really want to enjoy - I love the very idea of it - but it’s never stuck with me. That’s finally changed, and I’m not entirely sure why. But what I do know is that I’m finally understanding why 24 million-plus people have found themselves enjoying Digital Extremes MMO-like Action RPG-shooter hybrid.

I understand a F2P company needs to make money, but they absolutely don't need to have crafting walled off at 12 hour, 24 hour, and 72 hour craft times to make people who are impatient spend money. That is outrageous when the whole game feels like it centers around you needing to level up as many different items as possible to increase your mastery rank. I maxed out my guns, my sidearms and my melee, but last time I played I felt like I was wasting time when I couldn't be leveling an item due to the insane craft times and I didn't want to waste the plat I did have on speeding it up.
Other than the crafting, everything else seems really well made and fun. I love the gameplay and even the grind. It's fun to just go in and play levels, even without a real goal in mind.
I do the same and feel the same. Tennocon is coming and I didn't farm prime parts like I planned when they announced it, because I'm on a temporary break. It frustrates me but not enough to force me to play.
But I still love the game and will support it as long as possible
Thank you for your time!
It's very much dragging the playerbase by the nose, creating new materials and new locations and new methods of farming.
While that can be flexible for creating content, it can be exhausting for a normal player.
I've never relied so much on other players doing the "discovery" than I have in Warframe.
No fate but what we make, so make me a ham sandwich please.
1st) Not for me.
2nd) Don't like it.
3rd) Not fun enough.
4) Eureka!
Do players who do this also like banging their head against a wall?
There is 0 excuse for not having plat unless you are lazy and yes you CAN make plat without the real money purchase , i just added that because the game really does deserve the 20$ for the amount of quality content you get.

For me, it's because I like it, but it never "stuck".
Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

Sometimes games do actually change for the better. For me I know it's close to being a game i could really get into. I've come to realize they will likely never make the changes required for me to get into the game, even though they might make the game vastly more appealing. Couple that with the current game market lacking in good options and you get a lot of people wandering around from game to game looking trying to get a little enjoyment out of the experience before the reality sets in.
It's a good point, but other games have done that to me. ESO is the best example. Lots of people love it, but I couldn't get into it. Finally, I just hit that magic combination that appealed to me. I don't know if it was class/skill choice, lack of other things going on in my personal life, or changes to the game itself, but I'm really glad I didn't write it off as I was able to have a fun time with it eventually. LotRO, EQII, Divinity: Original Sin, and Rift are all other examples.
Warframe is one of those that passed me by. I guess it just never caught my eye. Reading this article has me wanting to try it now. Sounds like it might just scratch that itch that losing Marvel Heroes left.
The problem with arguments like this is that
1: You don't have to buy plat
2: You get to a point to where unless you're playing literally all day, you won't burn through your weapons and frames, meaning that you're going to always have things to level.
The idea that people are being forced to buy plat is in this case simply false.
