mmo sickness. is there a bug in mmo life

i have been noticing that alot of new and upcooming mmos are really boring with no quest mainly only hack and slashing. they only seem to work on things like graphics and character looks and not gameplay. because look at it this way rs was one of the best mmos and still is but you dont see nice graphics or fancy swords you only see the same stuff. does anyone else notice this trend going on.

another thing ive noticed is that theres a lack in customer service in alot of games. what is with that. i think it would be more reasonalble if there was more customer service and if the game rules wernt so strict.

The trend I have been noticing is how much you've been posting... No but seriously, MMO's have to last a while and the easiest way to keep people playing is giving them a ton of levels to attain and a ton of grinding. For example, I haven't played a single player game recently that I can recall that lasted me 1500+ hours like WoW gave me (I was playing WoW long before I started xfire). The way I see it, it's all about money, an offline game can last 20 hours and they will sell it for $50, but an MMO, you gotta buy the box and they need to keep you playing for months to come to keep you paying the monthly fee. And again, I don't remember grinding 12 hours straight in a single player game just so I can level up once...

Not sure about the rules being less strict part though... Like you mean naming policies, or like to go as far as hacking and that sort of thing?

  • i recommend you The Minions of Mirth

just try it out if you like gameplay more than graphic!!

Just in case you need some validation, I'm here to tell you that you're right on target.

The greed on the part of game makers will create a backlash against the games that will make people increasingly stay away from them, and encourage others to do so.

    I see a limited future.

As long as people keep logging into those servers the games will stick around. People even drop money into games that aren't even finished yet, sometimes up to a year before the game even gets a projected release date! Crazy stuff.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
