Finding a copy of FFXI

Greetings,

I think this question is mainly directed to fellow Canadians out there. I've been trying to get this game but no store is currently carrying the original version with Rise of the Zilart. I've been looking around online and ebgames.com has some kind of DVD version which includes the game plus the two expansions but my local EBGames store does not carry that. In any case I don't have a DVD player to install it with anyway! I was wondering is there anywhere I could get this game here in Canada? Thanks!

    The old PC version (on CD with just Rise of the Zilart) is out of print and very hard to find. The Vana'diel Collection (which is on DVD and has both Zilart and Chains of Promathia) is currently the only available edition unless you can find somebody with old stock. A DVD-ROM drive can be had for $20 these days, and there's going to be more and more games coming out only on DVD. I really suggest you get one.

    My husband and I didn't have a DVD-ROM on either of our computers when we decided to start playing FFXI again.  Basically if you don't have one, you have to go buy one or you can't install the game.  Like someone mentioned, you can find them for $20.  I know you may not want to upgrade just to play a game but well...you otherwise have no choice I think. 

    Even after a quick search on ebay, I didn't see any copies of the game that isn't the Vana'diel Collection (dvd) or just an expansion.
