World of Warcraft News - The PR campaign for the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth expansion is ramping up in a big way. We've seen the Lucha Libre sponsorship, a burger campaign in New Zealand and now four brilliantly funny television commercials presumably for the US. Each one, Rainy Day, Kid's Choice, Elevator and Bus, is themed around "It Matters". Check them out for a great Tuesday chuckle.

I liked the first best and the last one as my second choice. Loved the guy self tatooing. Stuff like this is so fun. sigh. Makes me wish I could actually get into World of Warcraft.

I liked Rainy Day and Bus. Would be funny if something like that actually happened and you had half the bus yelling, "For the Horde!!!" and the other half yelling, "For Azoroth!!!" then everyone breaks out laughing and tossing up, high fives. After all as gamers, we're all on the same side.

There's currently no mmo community like the WoW community, but maybe that's due to sheer numbers. I wish I could bring myself to play again, but I just can't stomach the combat, graphics, and engine anymore. Here's hoping for a WoW 2 before 2050.

They should've took money from 2 of those commercials and invested it back into servers....and bug control...my affliction warlock is getting tormented soul buff after today for some reason...either that or its a troll to remind me how good my class was with the artifact traits.

"It matters!" No, no Blizzard it doesn't. And it hasn't for a long long time. I feel once both factions got pallys and shammys faction identity ceased to exist. Don't get me wrong, those were all excellent advertisements. its just I feel that what has driven players away from the game isn't the lack of faction warfare lore, or PVP options, but a continuing cycle of batshit crazy game mechanics changes. This next expansion seems to follow in that same direction. So hey bully for some great add spots, but maybe, just maybe Blizzard should have spent more time with the folks at the drawing board and less with the hipsters at the advertising agency. Now get off my lawn.

Good God people. How about a chuckle and move on without crapping on EVERYTHING? FFS...I get so tired of that mentality in EVERY thread about WoW...and damned near every other thread too.

You know, there are a shit ton of games I don't like, but I don't spend my afternoons going into threads that some of YOU create to leave a stinky.

We have so much negativity in the truly non-fun parts of our lives. Can't we have ONE place where we live and let live without having to challenge anyone else's notion of fun?

I always loved their tv spots. But i just can't bring myself to pay a monthly sub. for this or any other mmo anymore. Back in the early days of mmo's i used pay for up to 3 mmo subs. at once. I just haven't seen anything ground breaking to make me want to pay monthly for any mmo today. To me we all have been doing the same crap in mmo's since 2000.

Too bad they didn't spend as much time on the expansion itself as they did on the PR for it...

Unfortunately, you and I both know, Blizzard will only remotely considering changing/fixing things (that shouldn't have been broken in the first place) unless enough people complain about it. Its not farting in someone's cheerios for the sake of it (well some of us anyway), its the repetitive arrogance they display, which in turn sparks the rebuttal "if you dont like it, dont play it" (which is why WoW has lost so many millions over the years) or "try to see the positives for once" when server instability is a "normal" thing. Should it really be a normal thing though? They are a multi-billion dollar company, so one would assume they would spend some of that money to ensure things are properly tested and so on. Or please explain to me why problems from alpha still made it into prepatch (visit preacher's channel for several things that were ignored in alpha/beta). So, I think people have a right to be on edge seeing 4 commercials advertising a currently broken product, but that's just me. One important thing most people should consider when reading a complaint, maybe they are complaining cause they care? Odd thought I know, but there are some people that like WoW but don't like the direction things are going. Then again, some people like going 20 levels without getting anything or having stuff they had in a game for 5+ years being taken away just to be "rewarded" to them again later (just look at half of the legionary effects we got in legion, half of them used to be glyph, while others used to be baked in, namely the BM hunter leggo belt, used to added baseline).

I love it. Youre so desperate to bash something you know nothing about that youve resorted to whining about commercials existing. Dude, hating popular things is not a substitute for a personality.

This is what always separated WoW from the others IMO, their marketing/commercials were always A1.

    All of them were great.

I have to ask: Who are these ads designed for?  Is it for WOW players that don't realize an expansion is coming out?  If so that's not really going to be effective in doing that.  Is it for people that never played the game?  If so, I'm not sure how this will attract them.

They're definitely designed for WoW players, so what's the purpose of them? I've never played WoW, and I didn't find these funny at all. "Declare Your allegiance", ok, I get it, still not funny.
