There are three points to make about WoW which I hope should stop people from bashing WoW or thinking it is God's gift to the world.
1. WoW was created to make money and more money and even more money. For example, it was dumbed down, they're beefing up the alliance (What do most people play?), etc. Their goal is to make money, when will people realize that? All aspects of the game are geared to make money, so if the game is too easy, it wasn't a design flaw, it was the crux of the design.
2. The game intrinisically isn't an amazing game. Blizzard made sure to make the minimum amount of bugs and they made sure no aspect of the game was broken. In reality, the game is rather polished, the loose ends are tied and gameplay is smooth. When people say the game is great they are the type of people that blizzard created the game for. When a person bashes it, one could say that the game wasn't meant for them. For example, some people like group-oriented games, some people like solo-oriented games (Blizzard did the smart thing and intertwined both smoothly into the game). some people like tough challenging games and some people like carebear games, etc . . .
3. In conclusion, one can say that it is not an intrinsically a great or superior game but it is entertaining for the most amount of people and that is what matters. Hence, the game was created to make money, not to be a good game.
I truthfully think that game isn't anything special other than being one of the few games that isn't broken and overly buggy but I 100% realize that the game was created so most people will think it is special. I realize, that I am not like most people, I like very complicated, challenging games, with politics, open PvP, intrigue and consequences for stupidity. Blizzard realizes that most people aren't like me and they tailored their game to the majority.
The application of what I said is that if one looks objectively at WoW they can only say that it is well done, if people don't like WoW they shouldn't say it is a bad game or it sucks they should realize that it wasn't for them. When a person loves WoW they shouldn't think that the game is super amazing, they should realize that it just happens to be tailored for them. WoW is a well done, complete, professionally engineered game, it is not a bad or a good game.
A game that truly sucks is a broken game . . .
Food for thought:
What is a "good game"? Is it the most popular one or are their somewhat objective criteria that determine how good a game is?
My opinion is that half of what makes a game good is the amount of bugs and if there isn't anything broken, essentially, is it dutifully completed and the other half is personal taste and style.

starting a new journey may not be so hard,
or maybe it has already begun.
There are many worlds,
but they share the same sky --- one sky, one destiny.
