Need a new MMO, World OF Warcraft has some decent lore, but the problem with WOW is the outdated User Interface, Outdated Character Models, UI Mods always being out of date and breaking especially when you run a lot of them...
I miss WOW it was a good game back in the Original release, Burning Crusade is where it started to decline.
Lets pretend they make a MMO. Isn't it a bit arrogant to assume that they would be in the same league (pun kind of intended) as WoW? FFXIV is carrying WoW's jock strap in turns of playerbase but they're revenue is probably equal due to how heavy they monetize the game. At best I'd say they would be in league with GW2 or ESO in terms of numbers.

Off topic sorry but how FFXIV is heavily monetized compared to WoW?

I bet Mark Merrill was the kid in Junior high who use to put his hand out or go for a high five and before he made contact would pull his arm back and go, PSYCH!!

You're joking right? Almost every cosmetic outfit they sell on their cash shop is bound to one character, most mounts as well. Some of the outfits are also gender locked within the same variant when they previously allowed you to change to the opposite variant free in game. WoW charges what? Every pet/mount is account wide. They only have 3-4 appearance cosmetic costumes in their cash shop. 60$ for a boost I guess? When FFXIV has 2 separate types of boosts going for 30$ each (story skip which doesn't include the levels with sub variant skips which allow you to skip by expansions and a straight up level skip). Ontop of all of that, they update their cash shop once a month (july being twice because of those juicy holiday sales). Not to mention if you want more space in game, you need to pay real money for it via the rentable retainer system which also allows you more marketboard (auction house) selling slots. Need I go on? Or maybe you can tell me how Blizzard is the same/worse? I may not like WoW too much atm, but the monetization has always been more fair than most. I mean FFXIV doesn't even let you send items to alts via tradition means for crying out loud....

FFXIV has a MASSIVE cosmetic store on the Mogstation. Plus the extra they get from people having extra retainers and things like that.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
