No Man’s Sky has really become far more developed since launch and the mission system is a big part of that. Red Thomas takes a look at the mission system in the game and makes some suggestions for how players might get the most out of their time running missions.

It is interesting that we are now in an era of not just reboots but repurposing of games. Compare NMS to Bless. Bless had issues that were never resolved and new content added on to make it more rounded as a game. NMS had all the core mechanics sorted but hardly any game at all. When you add on to something that's working well the new game goes so much more smoothly, a lesson for the future?

Here's a tip, take missions to kill animals, as many as you can, then fly down to a planet and find an abandoned building with spider eggs. Farm the eggs (takes about 9 min, total) and kill the Horrors until you've done the quests. The Eggs will net you around 5 mil, plus whatever the missions get you. Repeat. You can do this on any world, regardless of life, as long as it has abandoned buildings with eggs.

I don't think it's supposed to be that kind of game. I think they would be better off improving multiplayer and making the worlds fully random. Wildly random flora and fauna . . . except for the one species of hostile flora and toxic spore plant that exist everywhere exactly the same . . . . having the Sodium, Oxygen and Jump pack plants change every planet wouldn't be a bad idea either.

How about fixing the Scientist. You must complete the Scientist quest line to get the blueprint for Living Glass but the Scientist doesn't talk to you. So you can't finish the mission to help Artemus.
