Yeah, I was kinda wondering that too. Not up on the timeframes but last thing I remember hearing was that is was due out sometime soon. If it has been released, whats the general opinion? MxO is one of the few mmorpgs I haven't tried and I wasn't about to play it if an overhaul was on its way. Wanted to wait to learn it while it was in a stable constant form.
Since CR2, combat is much smoother and quicker. The tactics (Speed, Power, Grab, Block, Withdraw) actually mean something now besides causing states. Also, you can no-longer just roll out of combat when it is selected, now they have a "contested withdraw" system that checks your withdraw roll against the combat roll. It's also no-longer an "I hit you, you hit me, or noone hits at all" system. In combat now, it's now entirely possible to hit each other in the same round with an appropriate animation for it.
It was a much needed change, and very welcomed by the community. The old system was extremely buggy and tedius, while CR2 makes combat fluid and fun once again.
