Ever since it launched back in February 2018, Soulworker has been a staple of my own MMO roster. The fluid combat systems, the instanced dungeons, and let’s face it, the anime aesthetic made this way more than just another otaku cash grab. Now, Gameforge has unveiled the game’s biggest update. I had a whirlwind tour and hands-on preview of the latest addition to Lion Game’s MMORPG.

I would play it if i wasnt scared off by the dev, but is it really as bad as gameforge is known to make it?
I tried it , it was really cool, weird and hub based but the graphics & gameplay are alot of fun
Aloha Mr Hand !
Gameforge has a well earned reputation. It burned a fair few of my old guildmates with Aion but having played this on and off I can't say that I feel like the business model is not particularly egregious. The shop is almost all cosmetic with boosters and the game is just fun. Without sounding like I'm shilling for GF, (I'm not btw I'm dropping my own hard earned IRL cash on this) the team working on SW actually do seem to care that the game meets players expectations so yeah I would absolutely encourage you to give it a go if you're interested
Why something so old came over here under a terrible publisher is beyond me. Nothing's changed since its release and the game economy has only gotten destroyed by gold sellers to the point nobody new can afford anything off the market. You literally have to buy gold if you want anything at higher levels.
People are still pissed about English release too. The JP version of the game is still far superior.
Regardless, Vindictus is a way better game of the same genre, both in core design and technicals/visuals, and released in the west almost 8 years ago. Hell, Kritika is better too, and that's run by the now scum EME.
Between Soulworker and Closers, they are just "otaku cash grabs".
From removing features of the game to nerfing the exp gain to "encourage" people to buy exp and energy items, this types of Publishers keeps suprising me with how greedy they can get.
