the division 2 will be better ... way better and they have pvp ..
So has Destiny 2 apparently, while The Division is arguably a better game than Destiny 2, so far there is little evidence to suggest that The Division 2 will be half as good as the first game to bear that name. :/
Division is better than Destiny? Says who? I love Destiny and Destiny 2 and been playing since the release of the first one and bought The Division and doesn't compare to Destiny it's not FPS and it's weird as shit and you're hit by mobs 100% even if you're moving only way not to get hit is to hide behind objects all the time it's annoying. In Destiny if you move around can dodge most hits and like you miss sometimes so does the mobs in The Division you're like a magnet for the bullets shot towards you. I find the combat mechanics of The Division stupid as shit and archaic.
In my opinion of course, i do have both Destiny and The Division, Destiny didn't even start to be fun until Taken King and even then it wasn't 'great'. The Division also took quite a while to be 'fun' too, only The Division imo improved far more than Destiny did, i still play The Division now which  is testament to how much it improved, as for Destiny 2, i dodged the bullet on that one, it remains to be seen if The Division 2 will be a buy or an avoid. :/

Anthem appeals to me (arpg/mmo player) never really got into stories too much - save for wildstar and warcraft lore. I will say that im not usually into shooters, but if the character customization is there, thats what im more interested in and can still enjoy it.

WoW tells a story that pretends no other players exist. Its a little weird. Single player story in an mmo but still grouping with other to kill the Bosses. But i suppose no story could possibly include millions of players so i get it.

But i always look at gameplay first and if the story is good then fine, it will help me feel connected to the world. But for a service game, it needs to have a good gameplay loop that will last years. No amount of story will give us that.

I might still play it for the action, if it's good, but I'm not expecting much for RPG.

I'll just leave this quote here from PCGamer. that is referring to the binary dialog choices game will offer with NPC interaction. In short you only have two dialog branch choices with an NPC. It's not often you get a direct quote from a game producer saying they're literally dumbing the game down for the masses.

When asked why the system was simplified for Anthem, executive producer
Mark Darrah replied, "We are showing this to an audience that is not
used to these kind of decisions and conversations. We wanted to keep it
simpler, but we also don't want to present you with any false choices."

Translation on that quote: The more stuff we can eliminate, the more money we will save in the long run which will make us even richer.

I don't play shooters as a rule, and I have no interest in Anthem at all. I ordinarily am rooting for games to succeed, even if they're not for me; if they scratch an itch for other people I wish them well. But in this case, I really hope that it flames out in spectacular fashion. I don't want RPGs to be reduced to yes / no dialog boxes that have no broader impact; I don't care at all about multiplayer RPGs (multiplayer MMOs, shooters etc are fine); and if they pull this off they'll then set a new standard of crap RPGs that will make the current landscape even less promising. Judging from this depressing advance PR, Bioware is already dead, so let's just give them a proper burial (and hopefully tank the ghouls at EA in the process.)

If Anthem is trying to mimic Division and Destiny, that means that it will come bare bones and disappointing at the beginning just to get decent after several months?, after all is a "Live Service" game so why not? /s

Or maybe EA will pull the plug before they get the game to a decent state and give Bioware a Coup de grâce to finally put it out of it's misery...

Hate to see what my favorite dev studio have become.

I hope there are also human enemy factions. Shooting non sentient creatures or random aliens the whole game gets boring really fast. Destiny 1 taught me that.

Of course my post launch purchase will depend on how EA runs the game and business model.

I am wondering there has a decision been made to not have humans to mitigate the image shooters so often have? What about Overwatch, how often do they have human enemies?

This "Friendly Shooter" idea has three elements, cartoony graphics, non humans to shoot and lots of girl avatars. As you may of guessed by now I find the whole idea quite laughable.

Brilliant, so they weaken what is probably their best game feature by creating a game designed for gamers that don't normally play their games?
You act as if that's a hugely surprising move for devs.

Even if we're looking at Bioware specifically: it's the same folks that removed the companion AI editor from Dragon Age sequels.

Bioware has been trying to grab fans that aren't fans by making moves their own fans dislike for a while now.

Oh, and recently saw a statement from Bioware indicating that future Dragon Age and Mass Effect titles will mimic the gameplay philosophies of this new Anthem title, specifically with regards to storytelling.  This Bioware has no idea who they are.

No need to wonder any longer what EA means by "games as a service": you take single player franchises and force online play so you can monetize them on an ongoing basis.

Good luck to them but I'll just wait for the not quite so AAA studios to produce some quality SP games to cater to the audience that doesn't get converted to the new GaaS faith :)
