It appears that things are well underway for the Netflix series based on The Witcher novels. We now know that the leading man is Henry Cavill taking on the role of Geralt of Rivia.

    It wasn't too long ago when he said he wanted to play Geralt. They must have gave him a call soon after.

    Was more referring to the time, as usually they spend all year on set no ? Though of course if he's got the time, no issues I guess ;p

    He wouldn't have been my first choice, but as long as they don't cgi his upper lip, I'm fine with it.

    Physically he's fine, but I haven't seen him outside of playing Superman and so I can't judge him as an actor.  Those DC films were just poorly written and playing superman doesn't really give an indication of how you'll do in other roles.

    I assume they'll be focusing on stuff from the earlier novels so he isn't blatently too young for the role. He's not a bad pick, honestly. But imo Hugo Speer would have been the better pick for the 45-50 Geralt that gamers are more familiar with.

    He also played in the latest Mission Impossible movie as a CIA agent.

    PS. Superman 2 and Justice League 2 are still in Announced phase, while the Witcher series is already in pre-production.
    It's only 8 episodes, so the actual filming can be wrapped up real quickly and finished before they start production of the upcoming DC movies.

    If Netflix treats this series with even half the respect it deserves, it will be even better than the Netflix Castlevania series.

    Stranger things was amazing and I'm just finishing up Breaking Bad (AMC i know) I watched one episode of Daredevil and was bored to death, does it get any better ? Is Punisher even worth a watch looks kinda shitty from the trailers? Glow looks really good though, I guess the point im getting at is Netflix is kind of hit or miss hope this one is good.


    Side note: does everyone know HBO is making a Watchmen series ?

    Unlike most critics I thought "Man of Steel" was good, although he didn't have much to work with in BvS but that was just crap writing.

    If you ever watched "The Tudors", he played Charles Brandon, the Duke of Suffolk who was the king's bestest buddy. Also Theseus in "Immortals", probably his biggest film before Superman. Both of those roles required a certain amount of swordplay so he knows how to handle a pig sticker.

    Should be good.

    I'm confident that a super famous, and powerful, actor who has openly been a fan of the games and a fan of the books for years won't let them mess this up even if they tried. 'IF' his interest is genuine. He already knew he was up for playing Geralt before making any comments about it.
