World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth players have a lot more to do this week thanks to the arrival of Warfronts and the expansion's first raid. The Arathi Highlands Warfront is currently active with the Alliance in control with the Horde making "contributions" that will switch the Warfront's focus in a week or two. Alliance players able to play in the PvE Warfront have access to a world boss that drops 370+ gear.

This expansion has just been a clusterf*k of game-changing bugs and exploits since launch. It's been sort of a mess.

True, but they have fixed most of them in a fairly fast manner...

Curious if the warfronts will be for the alliance on EU as well... really looking forward to that one :D

Fastest I’ve ever fallen off, I didn’t even make it to the first raid... For those still playing it, I hope they are enjoying there time. I’ll come back eventually, while the new zones looked great and the music was good. There was just a lot of things I didn’t like...

I dunno, I'm still <20 and working my way up on my first horde character.  I might actually make it off Durotan.

    Maybe.

Hmm more content that can't be lost. Maybe Warfronts should be some kind of elaborate cutscene, I'd much rather watch that than run content that you can AFK through and the outcome will be the same regardless.

While I agree, I also think that we don't buy and expansion to beta test it. A lot of the stumbling around that's gone on in BfA should have been found in testing. It really feels as if BfA was launched a half-year too early.

Don't get me wrong: I really do love it so far, though I see its limitations.

I bought WoD, got to about 92 or wherever it was to start the chain to build my garrison. Logged out of the game, logged into Battlenet, canceled my sub, haven't been back.

Sucks that I don't find myself wanting to come back.

I enjoyed leveling, up till level 120. Then it felt like it had a lot less content than Legion launch (not including post-patches). I never once got bored of Legion from launch to the end, I stayed subbed the whole time...granted sometimes had a week break to play other games...but...

I honestly had more fun in WoD at first and that got boring quick too...but not nearly as quick as BFA

And I literally ran out of content. I had to get 7th legion rep to continue my war campaign. I had to get 7th legion rep to play dark iron dwarves which I've wanted to play since release, I ran out of quests and things to work toward...cause you can't infinite grind rep so literally a road block on my character.

The legion artifact also was far more fun to use. Azerite amulet you can't even see your character wearing it (wtf? I could get a variety of looks on my legion artifact). Azerite traits are for the vast majority so basic and boring compared to legion artifact traits.

Where is all the class tier variety? All the work put into the artwork of class design? Instead we get to look like we are wearing armor straight out of a 3d printer that did a crappy job at printing lol.

Never got so bored so quick of an expansion for WoW.

The only good things is war mode, but I can get better pvp in other MMOs. And leveling...

I think WoD was better for me and that expansion was terrible.

Yikes! I guess this shows that Wow just doesn't get the attention it used to as newer Blizzard games are better earners.

I don’t think it’s thats as much as Ion (and the new leads for wow), have gone on a power trip where their opinion is the only one that matters the game is a ton different than it used to be and so much the explanations for changes or when they say they won’t do what the players are asking for usually come down to, well that’s not what we think you want.
Now I’m all for game devs making a game they want to play, but this is different they took over an established game, with an established player base and are constantly telling people who have been playing for years that they really don’t know what they want but the new leadership does.
The story is like 100x more convoluted than a Kingdom Hearts game at this point. No one in the entire wow universe seems like a well written character anymore, the class design gets worse all the time, scaling is a good concept that they’ve implement in terrible ways. It’s just weird.

Gotta love that M+ chest bug, letting people get 385 gear, then they hotfixed it out while still letting people keep the gear (currently). Lets also not forget that the quests you get in arathi are for only one character in the entirety of the faction (currently). Mmmmm bugs. Some of them are real headscratchers, like why implement the chest at all if you can't loot it until you've waited a week after clearing a keystone anyway....?

didn't enounter a single game breaking bug so far.
and i am on 341 iLvl now, so no, i have not been playing "a bit"

uh and since some obviously didn't get it, "the whole class design" is in the azerite armor now, you make your own tier set (some proccs are only available in raids)

I'm in the same boat. Doing dungeons playing with friends etc not having issues. Not really sure why some folks erroneously getting 385 stuff is upsetting. Doesn't affect me in any way.

Same here, I'm the last person that's got any interest in being a WoW apologist but there seems to be a lot of pessimism on here in particular about the game. Not getting this same vibe in game or in my guild. People exploit and get caught, the cycle of life continues. As far as someone getting better gear than they should have, I can live with that, if it's on my list of BIG problems then that makes for a pretty solid expansion.

It does look like it was pushed out the door a bit too quickly, but I'm loving the hell out of watching players who are losing their minds over it in General Discussion. The drama is so, so over the top. It's been a three week Shit Show over there and I've run out of popcorn four or five times now just trying to keep up with all the ways people think World of Warcraft has gone dumpster fire!

But when I'm not reading the forum, I'm having a lot of fun playing Battle for Azeroth! :D
Funny you should say that.  I read those forums constantly at work just for the shiggles, and I'm not even playing BfA.  I preordered it.  I just don't really have any desire to get back into it just yet.  Those forums though.  Wow.  I was there on day 1 back in 2004, and there for every expansion since.  There's always a bit of hate on an expansion launch, but the only time I recall seeing this much outright anger being tossed around regarding an expansion launch was back in BC when they re-nerfed Druids being able to pot in animal forms.  I'm 100% sure that most of it is being blown out of proportion, but with the sheer scope of the complaining going on, Blizzard might need to take a step back and seriously reassess a few choices they've made recently.

Although I'm still subbed I'v failed to reach 120, this is by far the longest its ever taken me to hit max lvl in any expansion. Instead of playing every night for a hour or two the way i always did with each new xpac i find myself logging in every other or 3rd day for 40 mins or so. I cant see myself making it past October

Ironically, in terms of leveling speed, this expac does level the fastest (even faster than legion). The main issue is that question is really your true source to level up. Dungeons give next to nothing and only worth doing if you have the dungeon related quest. That said, the flaw in this design (at least for me) is the replayability. Questing to level up is fine once or twice but repeatively isn't really a good design. Now obviously this will change dramatically 5-6 months down the road when heirlooms go up to 120 etc, but even without some kind of legion invasion like mechanic, its honestly not going to hold a lot of attention for a lot of people for long.

hmm, I'm playing wow again since I left this game in wotlk and having lots of fun...Idc care about leveling, it's boring, not even fan of PVP in MMO's but mythics and one available raid are great and that's all i need from this game so far, keeps me busy and entertained...when it comes to bugs, dunno, I'm 340ilvl, playing a lot but I've found like one bug with WQ and i wasn't even sure it's bug or my stupidity so I don't think it's so gamebraking and uplayable lol

btw those crying about bugs:), I can't wait when Pantheon comes out
@SBFord will probably get crazy with all those bugs (and there will be crazy amount of those, you know it too, right? ) I hope he will cry the same way as he does rn with this Wow expansion and say again this awesome sentence: We didn't buy this Pantheon game to beta test it! The same we can apply to any new MMO coming out in future and any expansion coming out in any MMO. And i bet that for example Pantheon won't be able to fix theirs crazy bugs as quick as blizzard does (but hey again, I wasn't victim of any bug at all, maybe some minors I don't even know about..but gamebreaking? nah...

It also seems to have the least hype/excitement that I can remember.  I'm really curious what changes they make over the coming year.

What I'm most excited for is to see what streamers choose when Classic servers arrive.  Yes that content will get old for them after a while but I expect insane hype/excitement for classic launch.  It will certainly put the BfA devs in an awkward position.

That brings up a good point.  I was soo disappointed when I realized how inconsequential GW2 dynamic events were.  I'd love an MMO where actions changed the world and controlled territory.  But Blizzard will never do that because of server imbalances and such, among other more technical reasons.

But proper use of phasing could mean that the world is one way while leveling but different after that.
