Razer is known for two things: putting together quality products, especially in regards to gaming peripherals, and having RGB on pretty much everything. Their latest product to enter the fray is the Nommo Pro 2.1 Gaming Speaker System, boasting quality sound, premium craftsmanship and, of course, RGB Chroma illumination. It’s time to dig a little deeper and discover just what Razer has brought forth into the world of high-end audio.

I understand that these will probably be for a specific niche group, but in my opinion definitely not worth that price. I have no doubt that these speakers produce good quality sound, but again, not getting enough for that price in my opinion. A good target audience would probably be the "Country Club" tax-bracket people that don't place the highest priority on value. For all the RGB enthusiasts I see the tweeters light-up but really ... not the subwoofer? I don't look at being "heavy" being a negative since that probably just reinstates the quality material it was constructed with.

I guess it's worth a write up for a free set of 500 dollar speakers. I went with the thx logitech set for 120. Havent been disappointed for 3 years.

The problem i always find with a "gaming" speaker package is the booming bass. Most of my gaming is done early to late night and what i want is crystal clear audio that has depth without the bomb dropping thunder of a 12 inch sub woofer.

I'v been in the market for a new set of speakers for the past year or so but i haven't really been able to find anything that justifys replacing my Bose bookshelf speakers which still sound great. TBH if it wasn't for a bad connector somewhere in the wiring that requires the random wiggle here and there to get them working i wouldn't even be in the market for a replacement.

Nope. These were loaners so were sent back. It's never about what do I get for free so I can write about it. It's about writing an honest article about what I'm reviewing. But we all have our opinions. *shrug*

    The bass is adjustable.

The problem with adjustable sub woofers is you can never get the whole audio sounding right by just lowering the bass. Its hard to explain without hearing but when you just turn down the bass the speakers that provide the high's or treble are too high pitched and it just doesn't match right. When you buy a system that has its own sub woofer its meant to be played at a certain volume, which is usually loud.

Oh I agree. Its why I've stuck to mainly headsets over the years. Sound but also loud noises that could wake people late at night ;)

These look nice but $500 yikes! I would much rather buy a good headset which I use 95% of the time anyways.

Audiophile priced speakers but not in the same league as audiophile speakers.

People would be better off buying speakers for their PC that are not 'labelled' as gaming speakers.

There are much better, not to mention cheaper, speakers for PC than these.

Totally agree my friend. I use Audio engine speakers for my pc. You can find great prices on Ebay and other sites. Sound quality is really good. Make sure you use quality speaker cables, because it improves the sound immensely.

Razer and quality in one sentence? Something is wrong.

I have heard these and they sound amazing but at that price point you could go true 5.1 with a lower end Polk Audio, even Bose - just need a small amp... I'm still using my Logitech 5.1 system and love it. When I need to be quiet - Corsair Void Pro headset. If this price point was closer to $299, I might be interested. Oh - Review was spot-on
