It's sad that this game is dead. It had great potential there were a couple of issues that I think contributes to it's demise .

1: Pay to win. Massive gear gaps between players creates a huge imbalance.

2: Requiring a subscription to own any land or home. Unless your life was AA you had to pay.

3: The labor system . Nobody likes it or ever will. It pervents people from doing what they want to do. A feature no Mmorpg in there right mind should ever consider.

    1. that is a given

2.not really a problem the game was supose to be p2p

    3. nope not a issue

real issues, launch game was pretty much a diferent game from alpha, everyone who played alpha would want to keep that, launch day problem on headstart, they know very well how many player would be on head start, the server couldn't take half the people wanting to log, and then after head start even more people joined

then we have the whole pay to win starting to be there, and they fucked with crafting making it useless and forcing the people do dungeons to get gear, so trion on his own hand killed the game for a lot of people then the devs just put the nail in it

now one little bit curiou on october 24th, we have aion update, bless f2p(lol), and AA update, wonder who will not have a problem with people

I dont think anything related to launch killed the game 2-3 years later. What killed the game was the things i mentioned above .And I agree with your statement they they caused the games demise THEMSELVES. I will elaborate on #2 I had a friend that played the game totally free for 5 months along with me who was subbed he spent 10 days a month 8 hours a day grinding for premium. Now if this restiction of housing was not in place it would have drawn more players. I don't know many people who would do what my friend did just to be able to own a house . And I will also say this. Owning farms gave players a huge advantage over people who did not own any farms .

Archeage is not p2w anymore because everyone can get the best gear without p2w. All you do just grind and pay subs. You can p2w very hard but the duration only for 1 or 2 months because everyone can get full set legendary gear just doing dungeon and full set Epic Hiram gear equivalent to Mythic Ayanad gear just grinding mobs in Auroria. You don't need land because your labor is enough to feed hiram infusion and you can just buy trade pack to NPC. Don't waste your labor by owning more land. Go to Auroria after level 50, grind mobs and do daily quest to reedwind, sungold, exeloch for hiram gear. You can do GHA , Serpentis and Mistsong, they remove regrade system of dungeon gear. If you have a high level friend it is easy for you to gear up.

    What ArcheAge needs to do...

    Remove Pay 2 Win.

Remove the ability to have alts... Just keep everyone limited to 1 account PERIOD. (yes I know there's ways around this but it's not so easy for everyone)

Make the game Pay to play like Black Desert or Albion Online

Have a cash shop for mounts and other cosmetics and housing stuff etc.. no boxes or regrade charms etc..

Remove Obsidian Gear & Hirim gear..... keep everything based on crafted gear like the game was suppose to be and bring back Hasla as a decent alternative like a small catch-up mechanic while they're working on getting their own Epherium and Delphinad..

Which is another point... REMOVE ANAYAD gear.. ideally.. I'd say go back to old school launch days like 1.2 or 1.4

I've heard from SOOOOOOO many people that back when the game was in lunch or even beta were the best days of the game..

This has been said time and time again also a lot of people I know want a subscription based server so they could do that as well.. soo many things that the ArcheAge community has called for but XL/TRION doesn't want to listen to their player base. They are just digging themselves a hole even more but I think by this time XL just doesn't care... They are most likely already working on a new title and ArcheAge for them is just a money net. They're slowly but surely milking every last bit of the game they can before they just decide to not develop the game any further and then pull their dev teams n such over to new project(s).

I could put more things, like the horse equalization, the labyrinth clothes with no stats, the coinpurse as a only way to get gold from mobs, only way to really make gold was to having land and doing tarde runs, crafted gear being hard to craft, labor potions (comunity said not some whales wanted, then after some time they put it anyway), and that was just some issues, so much potential wasted, kinda remembers me RFonline

So where does Hiram gear fall on the vertical gear treadmill? Is it Delphinad or Ayanad?

    Wow just saw this:

North America Aranzeb, Kyrios, Reckoning, Vengeance, and Kraken will evolve into Aria

Conviction and Thunderwing will evolve into Kadum

Must mean another Fresh Start server coming too. Hilariously predictable.

    BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE:

Maleficent Skills are basically the Abyssal Skills. So what happened to the abyssal skills people spent resources to get?
"As far as the forum code of conduct, I would think it's a bit outdated and in need of a refre *CLOSED*"

Epic Hiram gear is Equivalent to Mythic Ayanad gear. You can't trade this gear or sell to other player. People are going to get a refund the abyssal skills they spend. Hiram gear is better than crafted gear because you can change stats.

I really don't like jumping on the "this game is pay to win" bandwagon, but dammit... I have to agree here. I really enjoyed Archeage, even after launch. I know it had server issues, blah blah, that's all par for the course in my opinion, when it comes to MMO launches. What really sucked balls was that the developers dropped the ball and got impatient and greedy. I know Trion had a hand in this, but at least at the time, they complained that some of the bad changes were forced through by the developers.

Crap, anyway. It had some potential.

So, AA Has been going down hill for along time. I personally spent about 6k on the game over the years. It is Heavily P2W with gold sinks of course. If you can Get past the P2W ban wagon AA used to be a great game with potential, as I also agree with Alpha was different from launch and over the years its leaned towards a potato farmers dreamworld, the core aspects of open world pvp and PvE farmville *dungeons and actual trade run/farming * have been changed so drastically that its not even worth doing it. AA used to be based on a Risk/reward system. Want to take your hard earned goods through a PvP zone or across the ocean? Go ahead but you gotta protect it! I loved this aspect it was great It made for some amazing gameplay and drama. But I digress its gone sour and not even worth the time nor effort for the gold to do said trade runs and the population of most servers dwindle. Trion tries its hardest to make Fresh start servers a big deal because they know they can cash in as many people as they can to pay to the top. Let alone there is a LOT of cut content that was never brought over from XL games and the Trion version is always a few YEARS behind the Korean one. Any bug or patches takes months to come out with UNLESS it deals with the cash shop. they just take the servers down for that. TRION is always about the money. Go play the private server if you want a better experience IMO.

And hey, If you use Paypal to buy all your stuff and you dont like the game JUST REFUND!

TLDR Long time player, Its just a rant Don't fall for Trion

Not only that, but some players such as myself used to "Swipe APEX" for hundreds of dollars sell them on the market, and quickly buy in-game land, for players who did this back in the day acquire massive amounts of land, then get screwed over by "Trion Worlds" every single "Server Evolution" as they call it you lose everything.

On top of this the game is heavily Pay 2 Win due to the Labor system.

The only plus side to the game is the crafting system is good, but that's about all I could find good about it is the crafting system, housing models and stuff compared to BDO.

Korean Archeage got more positive feedback after 5.0 patch skill change and pvp. This is Korean legacy server large scale pvp.

ArcheAge was the best PvE/Economic game I've ever played. For carebears, this game was perfect! The symbiotic relationship between carebears and combat focused players was brilliantly implemented.

Both groups needed each other. Combat focused players needed carebears to make stuff for them and carebears needed the combat focused players to buy their stuff. Everything just worked!

Personally, I didn't give a stuff about PvP or gear, I just spent my days farming and selling stuff on the Auction House. It was glorious!

But then they decided to kill the carebear playstyle. As somebody already mentioned, there's no reason to own land anymore, because nobody needs farmed or crafted goods.

For reasons I can only attribute to greed and stupidity, they systematically destroyed the wonderful economic system that kept carebears so engaged with the game.

Now, all ArcheAge is, is just another game where you grind gear and kill stuff. BORING!

So if you're not into combat, then there's absolutely nothing to do in ArcheAge for carebear players. This update offers nothing for us. I couldn't care less about it. So I won't be going back.

I'm a carebear.  Is there not enough to the farming and selling aspects to get a satisfactory experience just from those?
