PvP Server help please

Heya guys, I am new to Ever Quest, an RP'er PvPer and I am interested to buy the game.
I was just wondering about the PvP servers. Are PvP/RP servers like the core game servers, just with PvP enabled? If so that is cool. I just dont want like an arena type thing, were you go into a server, make a character and pvp some place with no PvE or anything as well.
If I could get some clarification. Also, what is the newest PvP server up? and how long ago was is started?

Allow me to clarify this.
Qeynos VS. Freeport
Pick your city, and go out. The other side, cannot access the bells of your hometown, thus making one solo PvE area. This is good to level up, and it helps. PvP, starts at level 10.
Every area, has a level range, as to which you can be attacked, and it's 8 levels, at the lowest. If you kill someone within an 8 level limit, you gain coin, maybe about 2/3 of all coin on person, and any unattuned treasured or lower item, they don't drop that often. If you do kill someone within 8 levels of you, and a single rank above below, or equal, you will gain infamy, and -status is gained on each kill--and faction-, after so many infamy kills, your title goes up.
I.E., if you have no title, and kill a hunter, you will gain infamy. If you are a hunter, and kill a champion, you will gain no infamy, but status, item, coin, ect..., provided you are withing the 8 level range.
Now, as you get out further, the level range increas from 8, and up... In the expansion areas, there is no limit, what-so-ever. Level 10, can be kilt by a level 70.. W/e..
City PVP is a little complicated, and I still dont' understand it, so just go have fun with it. After so much faction, [30,000] you can buy faction items, from special vendors, located in QH, and NFP. Just go to guard and search for 'Supply', I believe. The lowest faction item is level 40, if that helps.
Hmm.. I think I've covered the basics of PvP. To me, it was fun, I left my 60, to go for it, and got a toon up to 50. Easy stuff, and the PvP, is quite fun.
I still don't know why they put PvP ranges in instances.. lol
**In a sense there is no 'specific arena', it's just where ever, so a word of advice, while attacking a rather hard fight, make sure to watch your back, because 1 person, can easily take out a group fighitng. 8) - Great stuff.
