MapleStory 2 is off to a fast start thanks to over a million registered accounts. Servers are being added around the world, but in Oceania in particular. To celebrate the big numbers, Nexon will be unleashing a pair of in-game events that should net players some nice bonuses and nifty in-game treats.

This game looks like Trove, but with Anime graphics.

What does it play like? Anyone know?

Played for about 3 days & game was alright I guess. Not really a bad game but nothing great either. I mainly see this game as being something people play when they are burnt out with all the games on their Steam/GoG list & have absolutely nothing else to do.

It annoys me to no end that you need both keyboard + mouse AND a gamepad to optimally play this game.

Well that killed any interest I had.

Let us know how its doing in a month or 2. I'm sure it was never meant to be a serious game but I'll reserve my 'hype' until more time is invested.

I mean the first is one of the most successful MMOs of all time, no surprise really. It will probably continue to do well for years to come.

Not sure what you're doing, but I play it with only keyboard and mouse. I use mouse for UI stuff and keyboard for movement/combat and do everything just fine

The game seems actually pretty fun. My biggest complaint is the controls. Its optimized for a controller but doable with K/M or just Keyboard. The aiming is the hardest part about playing with K/M. Its just not the best. If I could rebind my right and left mouse buttons to attacks, then I think that would make a huge difference. But the instant balloon mounts are awesome. The resources on each class is unique so they feel like they play different. Could use a talent system instead of just leveling up skills(which some seem mandatory and others seems like their for pvp) Havent experienced anything beyond level 35 but I have really enjoyed the mini games and the aesthetic (reminds me of a mario game) more than I thought I would. Takes some getting used to, but overall for a f2p, I think its in good shape and I wouldnt fault anyone for making it their main game.

I enjoy this game myself, only played a few hours here or there as a time killer, but trying to use registered accounts to prove success is fundamentally skewed on a F2P game.  Now if they come back and say 1 million concurrent users then that is a huge difference.  Overall it isn't a bad game, whoever made the basic controls for keyboard and mouse needs to be taken out and beaten, but other than that it is a good filler game.

I did say -optimally- didn't I? You can play -fine- with out. Sure. But try aiming your attacks with precision (especially with ranged classes) without a game pad. Becomes an issue when you're doing higher/harder content.

Seems an awfully small thing to be defeated over....but some things are just THAT important to people.

Doing the harder content now on mouse and keyboard, also played R6S before this game on plat level, with no issues aiming. The complaints are nothing but that.. complaints.

I read something recently that said they have around 30k~33k users daily. [Source: https://venturebeat.com/2018/10/18/maplestory-2-halloween-million-event/]

As for the people saying it looks like Trove, Nexon does a lot of Mobile game shit and the models and textures in this game were also in one of their mobile games.

As for the gameplay, I maxed leveled, got a bunch of Purple (Epic) gear, finished every quest in-game in probably less than a week. Now I look at it and wonder to myself: What do I do now?! I really didn't expect it to barely have any content compared to Maplestory which took years to finish playing.
This game isn't bad, I guess, you get to see what Rina, Le Petit Prince, Arwen and the gang are up to maybe ~50 years in the future since the original game but it's more for people who enjoy CocoPPa Play or Line Play since a lot of users I talk to tell me they spend up to hundreds just buying cosmetics. [e.g:

    Also, the lore's all wrong.
Also, no Aqua Road (which I found another user in-game disappointed about as well.)

The best description I've ever heard of this game is that "It's the game Mabinogi players wanted Mabinogi to be" so good on them for finally having a good game lol xoxo
