CTD issues

I used to get complete system lock-ups with no apparent pattern. I got some ram (now have 1.25gig) and now I get CTD instead.
Anybody else have these problems?
I suspect it could be my connection speed (56k).
My hardware specs are ...
2.167 Athlon Barton
1.25gig ram
FX5900
SB Extigy
56k modem
All drivers upto date.

I might not buy this game because of lag.
I have a p4 2.4 ghz, 512MB, radeon 9200SE 128mb card, and a cable connection.
I'm struggling between either FFXI or HZ.
T1, you clearly don't live in Cheriton, Folkestone, England matey.
They only discovered fire two weeks ago!

I have a pentium 4 2.2 Ghz with gforce4 and 1024Mb of system ram and a cable modem. I haven't had any lag while playing horizons at all. I have turned the graphics down to low settings, and the game runs perfectly smooth. I have seen a lot of people with only 512Mb of ram complaining of lag. I would recommend that you get a Gig of ram if you want to play this game smoothly.
I've beta tested and played it when it came out. This was an ongoing issue even in beta. My system spec's had no problem with lag or anything. My spec's are: P4 1.8, FX5600 /256, 1gig ram with only shadows off. Sounds like your having bad connection problems so you might need cable or T1. Also, try the tazoon site forums. Many are posting there with problems. Hope this helps you some, as I don't play HZ anymore.

I went out and bought a gig of ram hopeing it might solve the problem. My machine used to lock up but now i just get CTD, not quite as frustrating.
