Neverwinter for PC has been updated to bring the Heart of Fire content expansion online that is packed with Acquisitions Incorporated storyline penned by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik, the founders of Penny Arcade. This looks like an excellent patch. Cannot wait to try it.

Looks pretty good , the professions need the overhaul badly , increased AD is always good , there was not enough ways to earn as they nerfed that over and over since Caturday , look forward to checking it out but wont be till after the holidays .. My Main there is a Hunter and most of those changes look good , overall this update is packed with good stuff..

I'm stunned that Tycho and Gabe would contribute to this PWE sludge. I just lost a lot of respect for those guys.

I think the main reason they do so is because they are good friends with Chris Perkins from Wizards of the Coast. They do a live Acquisitions Inc. D&D game at almost all of the PAX shows with Perkins as the DM. They also do a D&D podcast for WotC & have D&D vids on the Penny Arcade YT channel. I do agree about the PWE entertainment comment though.

Keep in mind that pretty much every MMO publisher has a poor reputation. Seriously, is even one of them well-regarded anymore? The only one I can think of with anything approaching a decent reputation is enmasse.

At any rate, PWE is still far better than Aeria Games.

Neverwinter just never felt like DnD at all to me.

I always chuckle when I think they are called Perfect World.

Me either but it does follow the lore & according to Perkins all of the Acquisitions Inc. stories/adventures are canon. So when they are doing the main team live D&D games at PAX it is inserted into the D&D universe. I'm sure some tidbits are left out or some parts are adjusted but overall it is added.

Like others.. Neverwinter was not a bad game, it simply didn't feel like a DnD game to me, it felt like an MMO, a very generic one at that.
