Wanna Stream Pantheon ?

Starting soon™, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen will open its doors to streamers.*

- Stream independently or play a guided session with the developers

- Get early access keys for giveaways

- Interview the devs

- Compete in our streamer-only pre-launch challenges and championships

- Have ideas of your own? We'd love to hear from you

*Due to demand, not all opportunities may be available to all streamers.

The goal is to make it so that pretty much anyone that wanted to could at least stream the game. But as the disclaimer says, there inevitably won't be enough of those extra perks to go around and will be given at the Devs discretion.

It sounds like the streamer program may take effect as soon as "a few months" from now, possibly even before the end of Pre-Alpha.

Benjamin Dean (Producer of Pantheon) will have a stream on Nov.15th at 6pm est, to discuss the details of the PANTHEON STREAMER PROGRAM.

For registration or questions, please send your channel information along with a note of interest to ben@visionaryrealms.com or via twitter to @BenDeanReality

I am pretty disappointed to see this.

I want to play a new game first hand and hate to watch others play a game for me. The more and more streams you show the more you spoil it to the point where there are few new places and things to discover on our own playing the game that couldn't be found on someone's stream prelaunch.

I played some mmo where a special part of the community was able to test an expansion before it was released and it left a bad taste for me. Everything new was mapped out and discovered already by what seemed like the most toxic and elite part of the community. There was no figuring out strats and solutions because all the answers were being spamed in chat by those who already played in beta.  I had the feeling of playing a used game right away.

I like to play mmo's to participate with the community in making strats for mobs and classes as the community discovers them live. It feels like i will not be able to do this since im not part of the streaming community and will be playing a used game when its released.

Narop, I really don't think its going to make that much of a difference. Only an elite small percentage will likely bother to watch all these streams to learn all the secrets and strategies. Most people just want to play the game and enjoy the discovery just like you (in my opinion). This isn't a theme park MMO. Keep that in mind when comparing this to how other MMOs may have been ruine for you. People will have a slightly different play style with Pantheon. Many will be just like yourself and won't want the journey and sense of discovery ruined. As for the for the elite that need to know everything, even if they didn't stream the game like this people will discover the secrets and strategies if they really want to incredibly fast. All you buy yourself is a week or two. People devour content and fill the internet with information so damn fast today there is no getting around this.

Unfortunately, no matter what anybody does you'll never have that true virgin experience again. No such thing as a fresh game where there are secrets yet to be discovered. As soon as the game is out and you've gone somewhere or done something a million others have as well and sombody's posted it on the internet.

I suggest putting yourself in more of a bubble when you play. Try playing with global chats turned off so you don't have everything spoiled, don't watch the streams or go to spoiler sites yourself, stick to learning things by playing and talking to people character to character in /say or /group chat. That's what I've done in other MMOs and its been great. I've been doing that and at first was fearful people would get mad that I haven't already read up on the fights, googled the info, etc, but at least in good gaming communities people are kind and helpful and I get to learn the game the way I like to... by socializing and through trial and error. I know Pantheon will have that kind of community. There will be a lot of old school gamers playing this. Hopefully minimal rude bratty kids.

I kind of get what you mean. In SWG I participated in a community POI mapping website (that is, mapping out where all the points of interest are). That was a fun community based undertaking. But it would not have been if everything had already been discovered and online at launch.

But then, to be fair, you could argue that what I (and others) were doing kind of killed it for the people who started the game months later? No matter when it gets done it's a spoiler for someone who comes along later.

    Umm NO just no.

This is when i see guys like COHH in their streams,NO!!.

I know they want to positively market their game but i am not buying into seeing streamers that just do it for money, partner deals are signed with their businesses.
Even the great Angry Joe will often be kissing ass,yes he will eventually give us a more honest opinion than others but usually these ordeals involve positive biased marketing.

I want to see everyday Joe,some mere nobody and giving their honest opinions,i don' wan to see big name streamers with the ONLY reason being to promote the game.

This idealism has become an epidemic the last 5 or so years, yeah i know this has been going on for decades with pro athletes claiming to be Nike fans etc etc but this is GAMING,a simple fun past time where i do not want to be mislead.

Furthermore,i have yet to see a quality stream EVER in these rpg's,the streamer hardly ever says anything to educate the viewer as to what is going on.Instead we see stuff like "Oh this is FUN"  "oh teee heee i am having so much FUN".Or like the event streams where the two guys on stage Que ue the crowd to stand up and cheer loudly...umm NO THANKS to crappy marketing.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I don't like the stream idea because it will show too many spoilers of any new zones as developers create them.  It seems not to much of the world is done only test zones, but future ones will show too much.

I understand the need to publicize for funding. I understand the need to give high end backers something for their donation, but this way will unveil the entire game as it unfolds.

Yes nobody asked you to watch so why bother. I don't want stuff to be spoiled so I don't watch. Is it that hard to make that choice for yourself. Besides everything will be revealed on sites within the first month or even before release during beta. People gather information like little bots and publish them fast.

Even in a world with no spoiler sites, there are still spoilers.

E.g., people yelling LFG Riverden Lord Naga at Ruins

Or you join a group and they say Lord Naga is at the Ruins up here on the right.

Players talk to one another. They share information. And those are good things.
