You people don't get it. The only way to change Blizzard's behavior is to stop buying their products which you wont do no matter how much you complain about them.
Spot on. One day I'm gunna sleep with my copy of Diablo 4 while I burn my mobile phone.

I think even Blizzard don't think they can make successful PC games any more.  I remember when Diablo 3 first come out.  The complaint about the game is pretty massive.  I think the game got better as time progress, but I didn't stay around to check it.  Standard is much higher nowadays.
I disagree. The standard is still the same for pc gamers. Great titles that build upon the things done well in their previous IP's. What changed is the greed publishers, suits and shareholders expect from their fans because that is all that matters. Cash shops, loot boxes, RMT auction houses. Use to be the opposite that any RMT would result in a ban and was extremely frown upon in the community. Now its a normal occurance as it was forced upon us and ingrained as something that won't go away.

Sure costs of making games is more than in the 90s, but when you are still making hundreds of millions+ profit off a single game then pack up and go to another platform that is just gimmicky p2w incarne; you can't blame the players. It feels like despite their newer games being extremely successful they scorn us because their fan's complained about something wrong with the game.

Its unforunate but WoW's success changed blizzard for the worse and the few loyalist from their golden days pre WoW tried to emulate their standards and what the community wanted but I like to think were forced out for newer developers/management that have no qualms with cash shops and not meeting the standard as the golden days. Also the fact Blizzard doesn't like to take chances(Titan was a new IP that was scrapped) and develop at a snails pace.

In short R.I.P old blizzard and pc gaming from them. I don't think we'll see anything from them for YEARS except for WoW expansions on the pc market.

2010 I bought Cataclysm, and played for a month, last time I ever purchased anything from Activision/ Blizzard.

Eight years later,  they are still making mega millions and I no longer play MMORPGs.

    I think they won.

They don't really make MMORPGs anymore either, so I'm not sure who won what.

    I don't know

I never would have thought that Blizzard would contract game development out to third parties.

This is what I find really surprising as I believe it cheapens the brand. Kind of like Harley Davidson having a plant in Thailand and producing accessories in China and Taiwan.

Do I still like Harleys ? Yes I do

Blizzard is different company now, It's not the Blizzard of old. I don't necessarily see a problem with the situation either but it will be interesting to see unfold.

I'm my local city we have an extremely popular chocolate store named the Candy Kitchen.  Christmas, Easter and Halloween the line is out the door and they can't keep up with demand.

When I was a kid back in the early/mid 70s we would stop on our way home from school and the owner would let us into the back and show us how chocolate was made.

Well, just two years ago, I was waking down that street and found a delivery truck delivering large blocks of "Hershey's Chocolate".

Everything is out sourced today :(

I think Blizzard may find themselves in this situation too, where they can't get their players to 'eat' the new mobile games and will likely have to go back to concentrating more on the PC platform. :/

Here in North America we can remember the Coke fiasco. Coke switched over to a new recipe and it was a disaster there was a huge backlash. They had to bring the old recipe back and they brought it back under a new name "Coke Classic" over a few years the new crap must have been a dud because they got rid of it and just reverted the Coke Classic back into just Coke.

Everything is out sourced today :(
I tried Hersheys once, not impressed as it wasn't particularly nice, but it reminded me of Kitkats, a while back the company was taken over by another one, nestle i think, they brought out a new 'improved' recipe for the kitkats, people stopped eating them, eventually they had to go back to the 'original' recipe.
I think Blizzard may find themselves in this situation too, where they can't get their players to 'eat' the new mobile games and will likely have to go back to concentrating more on the PC platform. :/
    That's interesting

Here in North America we can remember the Coke fiasco. Coke switched over to a new recipe and it was a disaster there was a huge backlash. They had to bring the old recipe back and they brought it back under a new name "Coke Classic" over a few years the new crap must have been a dud because they got rid of it and just reverted the Coke Classic back into just Coke.

Sometimes things don't go as planned. Customer backlash isn't just a gamer thing.
What?  You mean negative consumer reaction to something like a major company direction change is a legitimate market force?  Not just the hallmark of all us "entitled" douchebag gamers?

    You don't say!
The difference is if Coke made a new drink and kept the old one, no one would have complained and the new drink would have either taken over or died out on it's own. Blizzard isn't cancelling Diablo and replacing it with a mobile game, they are also making a mobile game. That's the difference. That's the reason why people like myself are sitting back thinking "Holy shit, entitled much?".

Some stuff in that video made me cringe.

The Cosplay stuff is like free advertising but has nothing to do with Blizzard or their work ethic.

The EVENTS,those make me laugh but it works as marketing because they get all those people to yell out and cheer every time they say something about their products. It is like watching a political gathering where all the fanbois cheer at every stupid thing said.Yes i realize that is not proper English, don't even go there lol.

To myself Blizzard has had 3 phases

1/ I never cared about and knew VERY little about Blizzard during the 90's up until about pretty much the time of Wow's release.

2/ Even after Wow a game i tried on release,i still knew little, didn't like their game but didn't think anything negative about Blizzard, they just seemed like a ho hum kind of developer.

3/They have grown to be extremely greedy and arrogant. This might very well have started because of Wow's success, look at us,aren't we great sort of attitude.

Since that time of Wow's release,i have learned more and more about Blizzard and even more so having played several of their games. My conclusion, still a ho hum developer but with a much more in your face attitude.LOOK what we are doing, right before a nerf  or some new cross game sales gimmick.

I am sure a lot has to do being partnered with another giant like Activision and being in safe mode with billions of dollars in the coffers.
Blizzard was a different company back in the 90's. They would post on game forums and play Diablo with their fans. They were always close to their fanbase back then. But like all companies once they get big they forget how they got there. Today with Activision Blizzard is only interested in how much money they can milk from the playerbase. AAA game companies are all like this now. Its time for players to ween themselves off of their games. I did it with all EA games and have not played a Blizzard game in a long time.
