Looks like Pre-Alpha pledges are back up, so anyone looking to get into Pre-Alpha (starts Nov.25), can do so now.

Then there is a good chance it might launch?

    Think about it.

Any developer who works on a game that launches is already in good standing. edit: seems like she's a community manager. Was she not a good community manager?

I think she was a great community manager (well director of community at the end at SOE), probably even too much of a community person by today's standard. Too much talking and interacting with players you see.

She also lost her job to owners "downsizing" their new properties with both Daybreak and Trions World. Which might be a curse at this point...

So she was a really good community manager. The only issue is if she was "too much talking and interacting" in an unprofessional manner.

Otherwise, "great" and a good addition.

Brasse can be a great thing for selling people on their game. If she can polish the turd that was Daybroke around the time EQ landmark and next was a mess, I think she will be a positive for VR.

So when an entity is running a thing into the ground, the people the thing affects are low life hate brigadeers and the person/people in charge of sugar coating it are the saints. Even when the entities fall apart from their own failures and mismanagement (that the short bus stupids were right about).

Why is that? She was a good community member at SoE and Trion for that matter. I've always seen her enthusiastic about the games she's playing or representing and decent to the community.
My only concern is why VR is hiring a community manager now?  It's way late for addressing issues involving customer expectations, and probably too early to be a forum nanny.  So, it doesn't seem to fit any real immediate need.  My guess is that they're just hiring available talent that they will need, even if there's not a defined position at the moment.

It s an uncomfortable feel , Twice she has been a contributing member of failed teams , Twice she stood back telling us everything is ok ..Twice she took part in detracting and covering up failure .. Twice everything was not ok ..

Now i understand she was doing her job .. But now this is the face you give your community ....Hope it works out ...

Well, because that was her job?

She was hired to be the mouthpiece of the company and liaise with the community.

She wasn't hired as a spy who was going to rat out her employer. And you don't really know what was going on behind the scenes. Maybe things were look up so she was told to mitigate any PR disaster until things could get better.

I know full well that if you work for a company, especially a startup or a publicly traded company you will sometimes be told that certain information is confidential.

It's just part of the job.

I understand it fully , I have still have a bad taste in my mouth form EQ when Scot Hartsman , yes the same of Trion pushed the RMT that ruined EQ2 and her telling us that its what we want and will be good for the game ..

We could actually attribute her to Three failed if we include Daybreak Games also ..

There are  a 1/2 dozen people on this forum that could do a better and more admirable service to the Pantheon community than Ms Carlson ...

When your job is to bullshit in public to your customers, and you get debunked twice (fault of your own or not) it doesn't matter if you were doing your job. It's a stock drop. That's why doing anything public relations related has to have integrity checks because yours is on the line too.  Especially when it's recognizable. That's part of the game.

It doesn't matter if they're great people, raise their kids right, cook pies, cosplay, and go to church every Sunday.

Nope. When a company continues to shoot itself in the foot as Trion did very badly with Archeage and a bit less badly with rift its quite understandable that some fans are going to have both concern and bruised feelings about it. No issue there. However when some of these individuals take their complaints to DEFCON 1 and just try to ruin the game and community for the people that are still having a good time it becomes farce.

Its one thing to get pissed off, demand your money back, and leave the theater never to return. And/or write angry letters to the studio manager or the film director. Its another to keep paying to go to the fucking movie and make a complete asshole of yourself the entire time to try to ruin the film for as many other people as possible just because you think your pain is something special. That's exactly what some obsessive dickheads did with the Rift classic server and its forums and it was absolutely fucking ridiculous.
I agree. When I've had it with a company/game I remove myself from their forums, uninstall, and put them in my snarky joke bag for each time I see their name elswhere.

Where I disagree is the perceived volume. If the sweethearts were the majority those studios would still be functional and not have negative stigma that follows their leadership folks.

    Tough business.

    Nonsense.

If you are hired by a company to liaise between the company and the customers then you still work for the company and you are told what to do.

This is a "gamer thing" because gamers think it's all a club and everyone is "doing it for the gaming" and then they get surprised when companies act like companies.

I guarantee that all companies that have community managers are going to have people who are going to do what the company wants them to.

These Community Managers aren't going to rush to the forums and say "run while you can!"

Because that will NOT get you a job in any future companies as a community manager/public relations person.

It's not her fault that she worked for companies that people didn't like and that made bad decisions.

No problem, I will explain my self brother. Maybe I should have done that in the first comment but here it goes.

Remember ArcheAge? She litterealy didnt do anything to combat the issues they had- she even endorsed the forum BAN policy on negative feedback.

It just seems that people quickly forgot how she acted. If she really is that good and good for the community then why does Trion Worlds have such a bad community and feedback loop.

Those are the reasons why I dont like her. I might be wrong but there they are.

I also think that part of my salt towards her, is the fact that she joined Pantheon- and I am a huge fan of that game and have backed them since early days.

I hope I am wrong on this one.
